For my part I can deep down grudginly accept this happens and if a team that I support benefited from it I wouldnt bleat about cheating, but in balance knowing my team could suffer from it or benefit from it, I would like to see a significant ban permissible for such actions. In the case of a WC or Euro, the tournament should automatically be over for that person. For something like the FA Cup, they should not be allowed to play in any following rounds.

Here's a genuine answer. I am not sure that something is going on about transfers, tbh. There are signs that the club is somehow consolidating revenue streams, it could be we are not going to make signings. Maybe ML was so p*ssed off at least seasons result, he has told the club to stand on its own two feet now. In which case, maybe Cortese now has to work under the same constraints as Lowe did, but without the smug supercillious attitude.
