Was wondering that myself. We've spent at least £1.5m since the New Year, and still cannot beat the top-ten teams.

Schneiderlin demonstrated my concerns about him first-hand today. Without a doubt, the new Matt Oakley.

Fielding the wrong team, with the wrong tactics, and when finally doing something about it, there wasnt enough time to win the game convincingly.

He said himself it was a "must win" game. I wonder if he will be honest with himself and admit he played a role in this debacle ?

Your comments on this thread demonstrate that you are an idiot. Take the one above. If the substitutions had been made when they should have (around the hour mark), we might have won 2-0.

Seeing as ca. half of them will be away from home, and we dont try particularly hard to win away from home, it just aint going to happen.

Pardew shows the same situational awareness with his substitutions as George Burley does. And not being able to kill the game for a couple of minutes to then end after going ahead...that is unforgivable.

I am assuming we are talking about a 1-1 draw, where we steal a victory with a late goal then doze off completely and let them equallise with the last kick of the match. Sloppy and unprofessional from the players, and I would like an explanation from Pardew as to why he left the substitutions SO...F**KING...LATE after being the poorer team for the first 3 quarters of the match.

I know with 3 new players we need some gelling time, but this is still very disappointing.

Seems to me AP is playing for the draw, despite his big words before the match about a win being important.

Another top-ten team we are floundering against. Seems like we probably have reached our table level for this season...
