Are you watching George Burley ? Its your top scorer first, not youngest player.
-
Dont they play extra time first ?
-

Oh well. A reality check at no cost to league momentum. Could've been a lot worse.

There are some real idiots alive-and-well within our fan base, I have concluded. Idiots so lacking something to moan about, they turn on a decision by our CEO - who is doing a BRILLIANT job rebuilding our clubs pride - for which no-one has a f**king clue what the background is. Duncan has been whining ever since this lot took over; in the past it was about the delay Pinnacle caused, now its that we are winning 3-0 but playing "crap" and that NC is p*ssed off with sh*te journalistic ethics from the Echo. I reckon he is tired of his history writing, and thought he could stop if the club went out of business over the summer...

Saints 3-0 Tranmere Rovers: Post Match Reaction

And I get accused of finding something to moan about.... Compared to the drivel written on here in the first half of last season about how great we played and how we "deserved" something from a game where we were "mugged" in the last ten minutes, some people really are being fussy. -
This point about it being "already in the public domain" is a red-herring, imo. Not many Saints fans keep themselves apprised of current NFDC planning approvals, FFS. This was not really in the public domain for the audience it was intended for. NC was intending to send out a message reaffirming his and MCs long-term committment to the club I think. And the Echo, with a direct line into the consciousness of the people of the city, shat on their own doorstep. Anyhow, this was almost certainly a straw that broke the camels back...

Really chuffed. Attention already turning to next weeks biggie.... -
Yes, because the Echo were trying to steal his thunder. How do you think Lawrie Mac would have felt if his signing of Keegan had broke in the Echo rather than at that memorable press conference ? Btw, I discovered this week you have named yourself after a Nazi sympathiser. Explain.

Look at how quiet this site is now mid-week, when we have won. Look at the digs certain posters receive about only coming on and posting if we have lost. The fact is, that the Echo must have mixed feelings about our renaissance - they probably sell more papers when we lose so need to scratch around for other, not necessarily positive news - and the only one of the two parties involved here in this spat who can unequivocally be said to be working for the good of the team and club 100% of the time is NC...
-
NC sounds to me like he has a gutful of the Echo snooping around the club and its staff, and continually trying to be a step ahead of the club in order to prop up its circulation figures. The references to Lowe by the Echo wont have done it any favours, and this could well backfire heavily on the paper in terms of those figures.

Cortese offers you £5m on Jan 1st...what would you do?

Sorry, hadnt seen it. But the question is poorly formulated, and invites the **** taken out of it. -
Give the man time. I for one dont want to see him fall flat on his face.

Buy myself a ski chalet in Austria, a country house in the New Forest, cars for the missus and myself for both homes, and put the kids in a good school. -
Why is so much effort being spent dwelling on the attendance figures ? Illingsworth is venting his spleen on his site this week about the Tranmere attendance as well (conveniently ignoring the fact that hardly any Tranmere fans have chosen to travel..) Those JCLs that dont come are missing the renaissance of SFC. Pity them... Besides, the team has proven time-and-again it doesnt "do" good performances to a packed home crowd.

This was our best result of the season so far, imo.
