Well, I am pleased for Southend anyway, you miserable bunch of shysters.
-
Southend have avoided administration today by agreeing to pay their tax bil by Friday.
-
Can we lock this steaming turd of a thread ? Giving Marlon King so much attention makes me feel uneasy, and besides, its degenerated into a shouting match anyhow.
-
Perry. I really dont know what to think of Thomas anymore, and I dont want to see Lancashire anywhere near the first team again (thank f**k he is on loan) until he has done some serious growing up.
-
Yes. (though I fear the new manager syndrome biting us in the arse.....again)
-
You for a start. The paradox of being thrilled at a draw against a mediocre team but berating anyone for "negativity" is there for all to see.
-
Dont have a problem with that, though please permit me the courtesy of continuing to argue my corner. What I do have a problem with is the continual sniping from St. Will, which means a few of my responses directed to other posters were probably a bit terser than they needed to be.
-
Prefer Perry. Chelsea just being awkward. Probably a generic club policy about loans
-
And they responded by tw*tting Yeovil 4-0. Will we respond in kind ???
-
Not exactly the next Tiger Woods, are you ? When I play any sport, I play to win. It hurts me to lose and makes me more determined to do better next time. The team did very well to partially rescue the situation on Saturday, but they should still be mad at themselves for allowing the situation to happen in the first palce. A "Sh*te happens" and a shrug of the shoulders is why it keeps on happening. Seems this club still lacks ambition in some quarters.
-
Anyhow, this is getting pointless. Here's to revenge against Bristol Rovers and a resumption of good league form thereafter.. We can all agree on that, cant we ?
-
Teams seeking promotion (especially starting from -10) cant afford off-games.
-
Nope, you really dont get me at all, do you ? We shouldnt have needed to fight back against a team like that. Do you REALLY not get it ?
-
There were several comments on the match thread on Saturday about Jaidi "having a mare", and Trottman conceeded the goal.
-
What shall we do then, let the team pat themselves on the back and let them sit back on their laurels ??
-
Hopefully Perry will come in keen to prove a point.
-
If by that you mean I cannot hack the winsome "cant win them all" shrug of shoulders and lack of ambition demonstrated by certain elements of our fan base, then you are correct. But I am Southampton born-and-bred, I wasnt born in the right part of Manchester, for my sins...
-
That our defence is still shaky against crosses, and the team is still shaky against direct attacking.
-
I havent responded to the football answers, because I understand, nay sympathise with the sentiments they express, but the paranoid side of me, the side that has watched footballing disaster after footballing disaster befall this club for 30-odd years, cannot let go of the fact that the next slump is probably round the corner.

This was Orient. NOT Leeds United NOT Charlton (we broke their winning run) NOT Bristol Rovers NOT MK Dons (we've done them over already). If we want to progress, want to get to the play offs, get promoted, we have to do the business against the likes of Orient week-in, week-out, to compensate for the "CANNOT WIN EVERY GAME" situation against the big teams. It aint rocket science. Yes we are much improved since September, but the Orient result tells me we are not the finished article, so all the "we're going to the playoffs" talk is totally premature. I am concerned that there are still weaknesses in the team to be exposed, and Orient managed to find one.
-
Excellent news. I hope we buy him them then
-
Quoting peoples posts then mis-representing their comments by editing them is amongst the most juvenile of activities that take place on this site.
-
Andy your point is what, exactly ? You trying to tell me what to think ? You all seem to think we are a much better team than Orient, yet you are thrilled to get a draw. To describe that as bizarre doesnt do it justice... I think we are a much better team than them, and am p*ssed off that we didnt thump them into the middle of next week. At least i am more consistent.
-
Not really sure what your point is. I was questioning our preparation and predictability, not expressing surprise or outrage at the preparation of other teams.

Whilst some posters will take the last six games and say "We will walk this league", and are entitled to do so on the basis of witnessing exciting and quality performances, there are those who will take the last game and say "Here comes the expected collapse in form", and are equally entitled to do so on the basis that this is SFC, the club who have won the least amount of matches in any league over the last 10-odd years, and who seem to have more than their fair share of f**k-ups and forgettable matches. Yes, it is only one match. We responded superbly to going behind to MK Dons, but took a helluva long time to get going against Orient. I think the next few matches will prove season-defining. I am simply hoping that there is no fatigue or complaicency setting in, that AP has the team back focused and raring to go on the 15th, and that no predictability is becoming apparent.
