  1. It might be a little unfair for you to call my detractors on here "narrow-minded" and of "limited intelligence".
  2. No - you are.
  3. Our transformation from relegation fodder into play-off contenders started when he stepped out on to the pitch for us. He gave the team something that was completely lacking beforehand. So what if it lacks refinement and a bit of discipline ? I cannot beleive the stick he gets from so-called Saints "fans"
  4. "Prestige" ?? I can see that. Having a load of narrow-minded idiots of limited intelligence slag him off on an internet chatsite. "Prestige" indeed....
  5. When was Leon Crouch "paid handsomely" for his involvement with SFC ? It only ever cost him money, which is why many of us argue he should be an exception to NCs and MLs rule.
  6. I got fed up with that bullsh*t being spouted on here ages ago, as you well know. All that crap about "oh, let Player X go if it means we can survive a few months longer and avoid administration" If we had gone into admin a few months earlier, we would have had no -10 and might have avoided relegation.
  7. The likes of you and I were saying it for ages. It aint rocket science.
  8. Hardly. Pardew has won me over, and proven that my doubts were unfounded. Happy now ? I'd rather it was this way round for the benefit of the club, than the way it was when Burley came in - everyone pleased with the appointment only to turn out to be a collosal let-down.
  9. I thought that the story of Crouch bailing the club out in the March-April time frame was more-or-less universally accepted by now, without even considering the rumour about him paying the Pinnacle exclusivity fee (which even though Pinnacle went tits-up, still demonstrated his deisre to save the club...if true). Blaming him for Pinnacle wasting the administrators time is p*ss easy with hindsight...
  10. I made this point TIME AND AGAIN over the previous 2 or 3 years, that decent play with decent players would put bums on seats, but nooooo, the "experts" on here kept going on about living within means even though we were on a vicious circle of dropping attendances and getting rid of decent players/p*ss-poor performances. I was roundly laughed at on here at the time for making the same point as you. The thought of being smug and ramming it down certain peoples throats is tempting...
  11. Indeed. Spot on. Interesting that Lowe never comes under Franks_cousin's analytical gaze the way that Leon Crouch does, despite being at the two polar opposite ends of the scale of "Directors Money In/Out"
  12. Completely agree with Daren W who demonstrates time-and-again that he is one of the more sensible and lucid posters on here. Dubai Phil's post was enchantingly nasty. We would have no club now if it werent for Leon Crouch's efforts in the Q2 and Q3 of this year. If anyone deserves a free ticket and a couple of drinkies on the house, it is him, without a doubt. I am sure Franks_cousin and 19C disagree though..
  13. Had to follow the game by WAP, because I went to an Austrian Bundeliga game today. Was disappointed to see the HT score, but when I saw that Hammond had equallised, I knew we would win, such is my confidence in the new set-up. Really chuffed with the result, and really chuffed that the whole team seems to be contributing. Is it unreasonable to say we are currently looking like the most balanced team that Saints has put out since the mid-80s ???
  14. I've seen Tiff Needell in the Kingsland a couple of times.
  15. According to the Echo this morning, tomorrow's attendance is expected to exceed 23,000, and attendances have risen 20% compared to the same period last season. So much for the fans being lost forever and there being no Lowe factor...
  16. Oh super. Frank and his cosy fence-sitting, bending-over-backwards-to-appear-balanced-for-the-sake-of-it-with-whatever-tedious-drivel-is-necessary is back... Oh, well, At least he tries to make an argument, unlike SOGGY.
  17. Unfair to single one out. Pardew has built a good defence, identified a weakness up front and resolved it, and (although this took time) appears to have sorted midfield out. I'll go for a left-field selection and say Wally Downes.
  18. I expect a big clear-out in January. Top of the list has to be Saganowski. Its about time the club negotiated a compromise figure for paying off his contract with his agent. I cannot see any point in keeping Molyneux, and having Bart, Forecast and Pernecky seems a waste. Lancahsire, White, Thomson all need a loan spell, and are we ever going to see Boyle, or should he move on ? I also wonder if we need Thomas if Murty makes it back to fitness.
  19. We need to get used to this pretty damned quick. 3 or 4 more PL teams and probably the same amount of CCC teams will lose their managers by the end of this season. I am reasonably satisfied that AP knows he is on to a good thing here, and that there are enough other bright young guns available to distract these teams attention from him.
  20. I have looked at Freesat now. Indeed, it gets around all the Sky bullsh*t for the Free-To-Air channels, but it still cannot avoid the Astra2D footprint issue. You are in Bordeaux, my understanding that France and Western Switzerland are OK but the signal drops off pretty rapidly as you go further East than that.
  21. Cant help yourself, can you ?
  22. For me the Lowest point was when Lowe dispensed with Pearson. I know it wasnt as "bad" as the points deduction, relegation or administration, but everything after that was almost inevitable, predictable and unsurprising springing from that crassest of decision. I said I would bury the hatchet on Lowe's return if he kept Pearson, so up till that point I was open-minded as the rumours of his return grew and grew but Lowe did the worst he could. So for me that was the Lowest point, simply because of the shock and awful realisation of what it would lead to.
  23. I've done a bit of research on the dish size issue, and your links only serve to confirm my worst fears. I need a dish in excess of 2m where I live, right down on the Slovenian border.
