I am frankly agog at Saga's comments, considering the way he was treated in the first half of last season. I can only assume this is a re-hash of an old interview, from somewhen between Saga coming on loan for Saints and the summer when we had just missed the play-off final.

Accusing me of calling Killer a liar is one-dimensional, childish and pathetic. You have absolutely no subtlety. You see everything in black-and-white. The bloke has fought tooth-and-nail to recover from an major injury, get match-fit again, and win another professional contract. And he made it, but the knee is not right and is still giving him grief. After all he has been through, it is hardly surprising that he is somewhat in denial about his latest set-back. Why not ? This situation has been entirely predictable, but has been allowed to occur because of blinkered penny-pinching. Killer should have retired with his health more-or-less intact after his reconstructive surgery, and we would have had all our illusions about him coming back shattered once-and-for-all. He could have played other roles at the club (perhaps he could being doing as good a job now as JP ?) which wouldnt have risked his health.

And he was also a cheap option for Rupert Lowe that enabled him to push Davies out of the door. And just like the Killer/Fitz Hall situation in the relegation season, we are going to pay a huge price for that decision

What ridiculous analogies. Killer has an underlying medical condition with reported history. There has never been any historical reporting of his sexuality, political affiliation or dessert preferences.

This has what to do with Saints ?

The hole is so obvious, and has been stated on here so often, and not only by me, that I am completely astounded that I need to repeat it. But there's no accounting for some people's memory or intellect, so here goes, hopefully for the last time.... All this prudent wage bill trimming counts for jack shiiit if the football served up and the results obtained does not attract in the punters to give sufficient attendance. The attendance against Blackpool was 15,000, the first match of the season was only 19,000. There is no way that Lowe has gone to the bank with these figures in the business plan, therefore the club is going to have to find even bigger cuts in the wage bill or sell more players. Only, we cannot get rid of a lot of our high wage earners to anybody, because no-one will pay them the wages they expect for the football they are likely to get in return. In addition, Euell and Thomas appear to be long-term injured, so wont even contribute any football to offset their wages. So, you tell me now how the plan isnt full of holes. Lowe still has as big problems as Crouch had, since at least Crouch had bigger attendances... And guess what ? No-one even needs to have inside info in order to state these issues, because they come under the category of "bleeding obvious"...I can see them from here...

I havent made anything up. I have said "the bloke is clearly in agony". Its my interpretation. For you, the other Nick and any other pedants floating about, I did not say "He is in agony" or "He has said he is in agony". The basis for my interpretation ? He misses week games. He is now missing a weekend game despite 2 weeks without a match There is an article on the OS or in the Echo soon after every game going on about his knee being sore. I think I've made a reasonable extrapolation.
