  1. So, you think that sneering and goading and using barbed comments on an internet chatsite is a better approach than the Chairman who played no small role in creating this mess entering into a "partnership" with the fan-base along the lines of what I have proposed ? Rightyho..... Sorry I dared suggest something out-field, Mr Hard-Core Über Fan...
  2. Mixed reactions to my idea, I note. Yes, this may not be a huge amount of money we are talking about, but its pretty powerful symbolism, and it would take the wind out of the sail of those who argue "not spending my money on a ticket in order to line Lowe's pocket". My understanding is that both boards only comprise of the same 4 people, and that Cowen and Wilde arent paid, so that only leaves Jones who is apparently FT without other external interests, so this is hardly picking on Lowe.
  3. I havent started a thread in ages, but an article by Illingsworth on his site has piisssed me off. He's lecturing about fans demonstrating their support of the club by handing their money over unthinking again. So here's a challenge for Rupert Lowe - Why dont you demonstrate YOUR commitment to the rescue of SFC (a mess you created) by saying that you will forego a weeks salary every time the attendance at SMS exceeds 22,000 ???
  4. For the first time, I completely agree with every word you've written.
  5. Production is being halved and Swaythling will only get the cab chassis version of the new Transit (probably only because biggest demand is the UK). Yes, it really is the beginning of the end for Swaythling, the last Ford production line in the UK........ VT has gone BAT has gone Pirelli has gone BAE Systems has almost gone NXP has almost gone Alstom has gone Manor Bakeries has gone Wix Filtering has gone Does everyone in Southampton work in pubs and shops now ?
  6. 1. Why did this need a separate thread ? 2. The Dunkirk analogy is wrong, stupid and plain ridiculous
  7. I must admit I raised an eyebrow at the Rochdale comment, which struck me as somewhat ironic considering nickh is up-in-arms every time I or anyone else makes a comment that he considers disrespectful to the club and its fans...
  8. Wow, sh.ag is in the swear checker. What if I want to buy a nice ****-pile carpet ??
  9. Please tell me you didnt sh.ag her.......
  10. Does the bank stand more chance of getting their money back if we have a viable football team or not ? Do you really think the bank are too stupid to realise that ? What are they doing lending millions to football clubs if they have no idea at all ? I still feel deep down our financial difficulties are being played/portrayed to the advantage of certain individuals.....
  11. Where did I say that Lowe should have presented a fait accompli to the banks ? I said he doesnt see the value in certain players that dont fit with his narrow self-opinionate view of football, so can hardly make a convincing case for their retention to the bank. Does anyone really think the bank would have insisted on the dumping of a certain couple of players if they could have seen what it would do to results and subsequently to attendances ? Saganowski was probably costing us 15 grand a week - 1500 on the attendance - easily achieved if he helped us win a few games.
  12. Yes, I read it. Thanks for finally recognising the obvious - that I do care about SFC (though I would ahve thought that patently obvious from the amount of my time I spend ranting about it). My argument with you and a few others is that whilst you laud Lowe's financial "prudence", you completely ignore what he is doing to SFC as a going concern in the name of short-term book-balacing (and considering our inability to get rid of the likes of Skacel, Euell, etc. its not even clear he has managed that). If no-one wants to buy your product, you will go out of business. Simple as that. I am not convinced, and never will be unless someone invented an invisibility cloak and a flux capacitor so I could have attended the meetings between Lowe and Barclays, that Lowe made enough of a case for keeping the team viable whilst agreeing cost cutting. Why ? Because he is so damned obstinate about playing the (cheap) yoof and this (cheap) coaching set-up, despite all evidence from the last attempt indicating it doesnt work.
  13. We'll see...
  14. Still ignoring collapsing attendances then ???
  15. They arent servicing a foook-off mortgage, and probably their ST sales are holding up better than ours because they have more genuine prospects this season than we do. Subsequently, I would argue that our finances are probably amongst the worst in this division.
  16. Having finally managed to catch a game via a dodgy live feed, some of what you write strikes a chord with me. BUT : At what point do the excuses about luck and timing, and the comments about the "effort, attitude and commitment of my team - which is first rate" simply stop being sufficient to explain away or compensate the fact we are propping the table up, relegation and administration beckons and there is no real evidence that things are going to change ?
  17. Been saying similar for weeks, but not as eloquently
  18. Davis is doing enough to get himself a Prem contract and out of this hole in January. I wouldnt be surpised if that's what's motivating him at the moment.
  19. Agreed. Hope's really all we've got at the mo...
  20. The occasion got to him. FFS, he was thrown in at the deep end for the sake of "experiment continuity". The fact that Perry didnt start defies logic.
  21. FFS Ron, stop always dismissing the deep-rooted concerns of people as "knee-jerk". All they do is repeat their fears every time more supporting evidence comes to light.
  22. I've told you already that I dont think Lowe made enough effort to consider players in terms of "value to the team" when he got his red marker pen out on the wage list in July, and subsequently made no effort to argue the case for keeping any of them to the bank.
  23. No it was not. Shiitloads of people, even some you wouldnt expect it from, came on here and told the Lowe Luvvies not to get carried away.
  24. How do you know that isnt an instruction coming down to him from on high ?? When JP made a change today he chose Pekhart. I reckon the yoof/total football obsession has actually got worse since the season started - there mus be some pretty significant appearance fees in SJs contract.
