The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.
Lighthouse replied to CB Fry's topic in The Lounge
I think Priti and Penny should be prosecuted and sent to prison and forced to take communal showers together and ahh … sorry, what was the question? -
Have you forgotten about this? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-59418123 And yet a retired footballer has managed to find conclusive proof of everything on Twitter, although for some reason he just sits there doing nothing whilst thousands are dying every week.

No, it was an appalling thing to say. What he did was sh*t a brick when he realised he’d pushed his luck too far and rather than everyone saying, "ooh look, it’s controversial MLT with another of his alternative view points," they were genuinely horrified by what he posted. Like most people who apologise, he was only sorry he didn’t get away with it, he hasn’t rethought his opinions one bit.
-
Sh*te start with the ball so far.
-
I thought you wanted a free and fair debate where people like Tiss with alternative view points were allowed to ask questions? But when I ask why said free thinker is choosing to cover up crimes against humanity - nah boring mate, not interested.
-
Reasonable debate?! Free school meals are a reasonable debate, this is industrial mass extermination on a scale not seen since the holocaust. Thousands of people are dying around the world, Matt Le Tissier has irrefutable evidence and he does... nothing. He drones on and on and on to random internet people who's opinions don't matter, when he should be getting together every lawyer in the free world to bring down this appaling atrocity.
-
I would say anyone who read the reports and saw the pictures of war crimes in Bucha, including the raped corpses of teenage girls dumped in the street, and thought, "hey, time to offer my ‘alternative view’ point," was an attention seeker. Actually I wouldn’t, I’d say they were a complete and utter d*ckhead but that’s beside the point. Nobody is trying to silence him but being alternative for the sake of being alternative doesn’t make you interesting. In fact it’s one of the most boring, tedious, textbook personas out there.
-
All he wants is a reasonable, well informed debate, where he blocks literary anybody who disagrees with him on Twitter. Anyone can do what he does; sit on the internet all day demanding investigations into things, whilst providing absolutely zero credible (pretty coloured graphs you find on Twitter don’t count) evidence of anything. Say whatever you like. I look forward to Tiss putting his money where his mouth is and issuing legal proceedings against big pharma and big government, with all his real evidence. That’s definitely going to happen right? Because if he has all this concrete evidence and refuses to take them to task on it…. Well he’s part of the big cover up.
-
Perhaps, rather than doing that, you should all get together and sue them. By ‘them’ I mean anyone you like; big pharma, big government, whoever all this overwhelming evidence points to as the guilty party. You’ve got all the ingredients; information so solid it’s ‘laughable’ to discard it as a conspiracy theory. Tiss apparently has a petition signed by X thousand doctors worldwide, supporting his claims. Doctors all have malpractice insurance and are all very well connected to legal representation and not short of a quid or two to chip in. An ex porn star has just successfully sued a billionaire former president, so this kind of thing will be an absolute walk in the park in comparison, the world’s top lawyers will be queueing up to represent you. It’ll be the most groundbreaking legal case in modern history, Tiss will be the hero of the free world, the man who brought down big pharma, with statues in every town. It couldn’t be more perfect, so what are you all waiting for?

Laugh all you want, we both know you’re just envious of my internet moderator Boy Scout badge.

He wants absolutely nothing of the sort, what he wants is quite simple; attention. 30 years ago he was the maverick footballer, the icon, the contrarian who took the p*ss and was idolised by tens of thousands because of it. Now he’s desperately trying to recreate that feeling and it’s honestly just sad to watch. He had a respectable job as a talking head on a half decent panel show but it wasn’t enough for him, so now he spends his days endlessly posting this crap, stuck in an internet circle-jerk with Far-Right Said Fred, that lunatic Cornish nurse and a whole clique of struck off chiropractors and dieticians with ‘dr’ in their Twitter handle. The pandemic is over, nobody else cares any more, I’m not even going to bother looking at that bunch of no-context statistics because they’re all just turds, hooked out of the cesspool that is Twitter. The supreme irony of all this is that when there were genuine concerns about the side effects of the Astra Zeneca vaccine, in a very small number of Scandinavian patients, they were publicised, reported in the mainstream media and that jab was pulled from use on all under 35s. So all the crap he keeps bleating about has actually happened, just not in a way which is as scary as he would like.
-
No, I’ve never claimed moderating this place was the best moment of my life. Quite the opposite in fact; I’d rather it wasn’t necessary at all but with all the crap I’ve deleted half the threads would be nigh on unreadable.

If, in three years, Saints played in the Champions League final, at Fratton Park, beat Liverpool 5-0 and on the way out of the ground I walked past John Westwood being attended to by paramedics with his dong trapped in a letterbox…. It still wouldn’t be the best day of my life. It may be the loudest I’ve cheered and the most euphoric but it’ll never beat the things that genuinely matter in life.
-
Well, you’ve correctly identified the callousness and ignorance of holding that particular viewpoint regarding other people’s health problems but as Clark said, you’ve missed the actual point of the post. So if you think I’m ‘quite an unlikable person’; fine but it’s not really me you’re talking about, it’s Tiss. He’s been tweeting his COVID conspiracy drivel for three years and strangely some still try and defend him.
-
So why were you arguing about a post where the whole crux of the matter was wether or not they were. Nobody, literally nobody, is saying they'd rather watch Haaland and win the race for 11th, than win an actual trophy. The point I was making was that two months ago they had no trophies, no cup finals since promotion and were a point above us in the league. That's it, anything else is just your own strawman. I genuinely pity anyone who says that with any sincerity. We'd all love to win a trophy but if there's nothing in your own life which trumps watching a bunch of mercenaries winning a football tournament, that's honestly just tragic.

The absolute ludicrous irony of Tiss promoting medicine for mental health problems when less than 0.1% of people commit suicide every year.
-
£35m for Alexis MacAllister is nowhere near market value. JWP will probably go somewhere in the £45-50m bracket when all clauses are included.
-
He wasn’t, they were both useless. Carrillo looked lost in a cup tie against League 1 Wigan. Two terrible, terrible signings where you just wonder what those in charge were possibly thinking.
-
If Liverpool end up paying £35m and not a penny more, I'll eat my hat. Unless he had some sort of release clause, there is no way he is being sold for £35m all in, when the likes of Rice and Bellingham are being talked about in the £100m plus category.

They wanted Rolf but owing to circumstances beyond their control…

Worst Southampton chants of the recent Premier League era?
Lighthouse replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
I don’t think Rickie Lambert ever wore the shirt of Matt Le Tiss, either. My theory is that they were two different shirts, which happened to have the same number on the back. -

I’ve been to Annecy a couple of times, it’s a beautiful, picturesque Alpine town. Hard to imagine something so f**ked up happening there. -
Before last night they hadn’t won a major trophy in 47 years or whatever it was. Yes, that was great and I’d have loved to have won it, the whole point I was arguing against was that they’d been notably superior to us for the last 11 years. They haven’t, up until the last two months we’ve been pretty much identical. We’ve had very similar league positions and a handful of decent cup runs each. Up until last night neither club had won anything. They had a Europa League semi, we’ve had three other domestic semi, not including the one we got to the final.
-
The original point I was responding to was that West Ham and Saints have diverged on different tracks since promotion 11 years ago. We haven't. Their 5 best seasons have been 6th, 7th, 7th, 10th, 10th. Our five best seasons have been 6th, 7th, 8th, 8th, 11th. We've had a cup final, beating the likes of Palace, Arsenal and Liverpool before losing to Man Utd. They've had a cup final beating the likes of Gent, Silkeborg and Steaua before beating Fiorentina. We've both had a couple of forrays into Europe, we could have had a decent crack at the third best European club tournament, had it existed when we were good, but it didn't. That's it, that's the difference between us.
