  1. I already gave up my racist ways after seeing the teams take the knee before the match last week. The first 42 times, I was completely oblivious as to what the message was supposed to be but wouldn’t you know it, that 43rd time did the trick. Anyway, the team....hmmmmm. 😐
  2. You believe all of these slogans and gestures have lead us to the brink of a sudden outbreak of world harmony and tolerance?
  3. Well, yes but none of that's feasible at all. Another Adams as backup is going to be £15m+ we don't have if we haven't sold Ings first. Even if we did have £15m spare, I'd spend it on a LB anyway.
  4. No sign of that though is there. Walcott, Redmond and Minamino have 2 each all season and half the time they’ve been on the pitch with Ings anyway. Obafemi has had his own fitness issues and not scored at all, nor has N’Lundulu. What you’re advocating for and what people are basically saying they’ll miss is exactly what we’ve had this season and personally I can’t wait to see the back of it. Ings, Bertrand, Walcott, Vestergaard... I’m really not fussed if all of them leave, they’ve been nothing remotely special.
  5. I’m not bitter when any player leaves us, nobody is irreplaceable. Especially 29 year olds with poor injury records, who’ve averaged 13 league goals a season over three years. The fact that Adams and Gabbi didn’t set the world alight is exactly the point, which you’re missing. 10 goals is 10 goals, whether they’re ‘world class’ goals or Adams’ ‘scuffed’ goals.
  6. We’ve already had the ‘huge loss’ of going from 23 league goals last season to 10 this season. It really doesn’t take much to be an 8-10 goal striker in this league. We need to find another Gabbiadini or Adams, not a superhero. Heck, even Long managed 10 goals once upon a time.
  7. Ings scored 10 league goals this season. If we can find someone else who can score 8-10 a season, it’s really not much of a loss.
  8. 10 goals shouldn’t be a big loss for anyone. If we can’t find someone who can score 8-10 a season, even with our budget, then god help our scouting department. Even a slow, unfit, lazy Charlie Austin prodded in 6/7 a season for a couple of years.
  9. I’ll see you Beattie and raise you Pellè. I’d rather have someone who was fit for every game, even if his scoring rate was lower.
  10. SSN now joining a variety of sporting associations in boycotting SM for a few days in response to recent racist incidents. How strange. We’ve had a solid year of kneeling before sporting events, putting ‘Black Lives Matter’ on the back of shirts, randomly flashing up on the screen during matches, Martin Tyler solemnly telling us that the message is as strong as ever, black squares posted on Instagram, adverts saying racism is not nice, marching through major cities and a Policeman 5,000 miles away is in prison. Never before has virtue signalling been this sustained and ferocious and yet none of it seems to have made a blind bit of difference. Who’d have though.
  11. Exactly the kind of asinine remark which loses my interest in any debate with climate change deniers, flat earthers, anti-vaxxers, 9/11 truthers and other, "free thinkers who don’t believe everything they’re being told by the MSM."
  12. I think you’re being a little optimistic there. Scally’s position on the environment isn’t exactly a secret and most of his arguments are along the lines of claiming Chernobyl wasn’t a problem, by providing data to show that cancer deaths have been increasing recently anyway.
  13. Except that we have all voted for Tiss, there’s just a general consensus that he’s been acting like an absolute spanner recently.
  14. Well crack on, just stop complaining to me about it on random threads.
  15. I’d agree although it’s not so much a political opinion as spreading ill-informed, dangerous misinformation.
  16. Split from the Chauvin thread, although I do find it interesting how often it's the same teams on opposing sides of a debate even when it's a completely different subject. There must be a certain psychology behind why topics as diverse as COVID, racism, abortion and climate change all get separated into the left vs. the right. Shapiro does make some good points (IMO) but mostly it's low hanging fruit, debating against the regressive left - students and others who are professionally offended. Whenever I've seen him debate someone informed and balanced, he's always come up short.
  17. My thinking too, so I can forgive myself for voting for Cashley, Terry and Keane among my other five.
  18. In France. He was substandard at West Ham.
  19. Eh? We’ve got a massively experienced squad. If anything we’re guilty of hanging onto players past their best and not moving on. Fonte was past his best when he left four years ago, I wouldn’t have him over anyone in our squad.
  20. I’m going with Occam’s razor on that one. It’s not in the news because it isn’t news. It’s so frequent and widespread that basically, nobody cares.
  21. You’ve got to feel sorry for Dalek. All those years in the lower leagues, talking about finishing 17th when we were top of the table and now it’s finally going to happen, he’s not here.
  22. (Installs MLG Deluxe add on pack) That woman clearly has an American accent, although admittedly four years of listening to Trump probably would stunt your education.
  23. All four of them? Anyway it's not real, just some troll who's managed to get a few bites.
  24. My theory is that Glasgow log ins are like COVID variants. In order to survive they have to become more mundane and tolerable until eventually we end up with a dominant strain of the Burkina Faso variant posting, "I sorry, I no follow Saints long time, I bet 5,000CFA for make insurance of Southampton result."
  25. I’m pretty sure most of the players we’ve ever signed have had their ‘head turned’ by Saints. I’m not sure we’re, well Saints, when it comes to acting this way. There was a day when I’d have cared about this kind of thing. Now it’s just a case of getting the best fee we can and moving on, whoever it is. All I really care about is the recruitment in this regard. If we can replace him with someone younger and fitter, capable of scoring 10 goals every season, that’ll do.
