  1. Because he was 33 and we needed to balance the games with everyone else and rotate the squad.
  2. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/58775879 The least mutual or consenting thing that’s ever happened.
  3. Because I believe it’s our strongest possible team, regardless of who played well against an awful Leeds team.
  4. Back to back ‘winnable’ home games. Another win would really move us away from the relegation fight and towards the comfort of mid-table obscurity. I’d probably bring the Armstrongs in for Moi and Redmond.
  5. Villa. 🤣
  6. You’re right, we should all be miserable. F**king Ralph!! He should have demanded Leeds signed some better players on a free last night.
  7. Finally! Well done boys.
  8. Very bizarre story this, Man Utd are flying to their game at Leicester, presumably to East Midlands airport which is northwest of Leicester anyway. Apparently it’s to avoid potential traffic on the M6. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58938198
  9. Had a dream last night that we lost 8-0 and I was genuinely p*ssed off that we couldn’t even do a 0-9 properly any more. Then again we were playing Ipswich away, so it may not have been an accurate premonition.
  10. I think he was talking about a poster.
  11. Actually it’s not an offshoot, although it was removed from the main board fairly promptly. I didn’t lock it because TBH I consider this place to be a fascinating social experiment. Compared to a ‘Merry Xmas’ thread which descended into the God squad and the atheists arguing about whether ducks rape each other, this is relatively benign.
  12. It's so sad seeing the pair of them carrying on like that. If anything Lambert is worse, his rantings seem somewhat unhinged and shouty. Honestly, if I find out Marian Pahars is an anti-vaxxer I'm going to go and support Swindon or something.
  13. I never know what to say to this kind of thing, other than wishing you my sincerest best wishes. That probably sounds a little hollow from a stranger on the internet but I doubt there’s a person out there who can’t relate to your situation in some context. Keep fighting!
  14. Previous campaigns have achieved all you can reasonably expect from a slogan or gesture. If you genuinely want to help, go and volunteer at your local youth group, keep kids off the street and out of gangs.
  15. The problem with that is that the high hanging fruit is basically what’s left. Instead of trying to reach that we’ve got people picking the rotten stuff off the floor and making a sh*tty crumble with it.
  16. Who is not as good as 28 year old Ronaldo and is very much a freak of nature and exception to the rule.
  17. What's my evidence to disprove someone else's non-sequitur, based on little more than wishful thinking? That's not really how evidence works, the burden of proof lies with the person making the claim. I have no reason to believe kneeling would reduce racism any more than building a snowman would reduce child abuse or hopping on one leg would reduce fly tipping. The gesture may well mean something to the people doing it but I think it was abundantly clear last night that it was having zero to negative effect on a section of Hungarian fans.
  18. Pelle would add nothing other than wages. He's 36.
  19. Are the people taking the knee the ones in the wrong here? No Are they helping to tackle/reduce/fight/end racism, bearing in mind that is their stated aim? Also no.
  20. I've been able to see this the whole time, I never realised you guys couldn't. Watching the sexual tension of Turkish and SOG fighting like alley cats, then 'love' each others posts afterwards, has been entertaining me the whole way through COVID.
  21. Seems to be a fair bit of that around, from that crackpot nurse who told supporters that ‘doctors will face justice for their crimes, just like the people who hung at Nuremberg’ to this kind of thing. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-58856068
  22. What if you’re Mount Sinai bicurious?
  23. With the noise we make, that’d have to be the burger van in the Northam car park, if at all.
  24. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-58840076 Why the frig would you not go with ‘pole-axe’?! It writes itself FFS.
