Supporting the players in taking the knee

False equivalence, the poppy isn’t political and has no links to any political or social movement. Unless you’re talking about the white poppy, although that thankfully hasn’t made an appearance in the Premier League. -
Ollie Robinson suspended by the ECB over tweets he made a decade ago as a teenager and has already apologized for. Of course, if he'd drank half a bottle of vodka and driven down the M6 at 130mph, p*ssed as a newt, nobody would be bothered.

Where do you start with banners which have a picture of George Floyd with a halo, #BLM and a Palestinian flag? That’s not a rhetorical question, I have no idea what to make of that. -
Let's all hope it stays that way. Overwhelmed this time, doesn't mean every ward flat out dealing with COVID patients. We have to keep admissions to a negligible enough number to allow all the postponed treatments to be brought forward AND still allow staff to take breaks, holidays and work acceptable hours.

Where the 21st June ‘freedom’ date may end up being postponed if cases continue to rise and hospital admissions follow suit.

Basically, transgender athletes will get less and less support the more success they have.

He wasn’t right, he’s part of the reason we’re still in this position. People have been acting as if it’s all over for a couple of months, just because the elderly had all been offered a jab. We’ve just this week reached the point of half of UK adults being fully vaccinated, nowhere near enough to be complacent.

I’m not down with the kids’ lingo these days, does this mean you’re a style icon of some form?

I think they don't bother with the 'rain' bit, for the most part.

Not a fan of that glass corner stairwell area. Looks like the foyer of some big insurance broker.

I'm not sure the time of year really has all that much effect, I think last years' lull was largely coincidental with the lockdown, followed by the Kent variant. India in April is hardly Baltic and Brazil had horrendous death rates in Southern hemisphere summer.

I think that probably says more about him than you perhaps realise.

Yes. Moi isn't a Mane/Djenepo/Boufal/Gaston where there're clearly flashes of brilliance but not consistency, he simply does not have any attributes to play in this league.
-
I think it’s more a case of him being told not to expect anything better and putting a brave, positive, media-friendly face on things in public. I’m sure he’d love to have better players available than Djenepo, Walcott and Minamino but we can’t afford them. Not sure why you mentioned Redmond, he’s been here for 5 forgettable years now.

Except it's not Ralph, it's four consecutive managers and our players genuinely are very limited.
-
Just glad there’s someone different thrown into the normal Norwich/Watford/Fulham/West Brom merry-go-round.

Thick anti-vaxxers are thick anti-vaxxers. I couldn’t care less about their melanin levels.

The logical fallacy there is that people are never aware of crimes they aren't the victim of. There are no media stories about people who didn't get stabbed because the person who would have stabbed them is serving jail time for possession of an offensive weapon. Jenas could have been murdered on the street as a 15 year old, just for being a young black kid in the wrong place at the wrong time but perhaps that perpetrator was already apprehended by stop and search 3 months prior. We'll never know. Basically, there are two options to make stop and search 'fairer': Reduce/stop the number of young black men in urban areas being searched. That will lead to fewer people in possession of offensive weapons being caught, which will lead to more stabbings, the primary victims of which will be... Stop and search a bunch of old, white ladies at post offices in rural, Surrey villages until the statistics even out. It's a complete waste of Police time and resources but it'll look a bit less racist if they do.

Like when?

Shirley, you can’t be serious? We’re supposed to be clearing out our own garbage, not hoovering up other peoples’. I’d take PvA from Palace and that’s it.
-
Nearly 50% second doses now and everyone over thirty offered a first dose. I hope that’s enough herd immunity for it not to take hold and that the only hospital admissions will be the thick anti-vaxxers.
-
Thank your lucky stars you're not a Scouser (for many reasons), I've heard a rumour next years kit might be a plain red shirt, with plain red shorts.
-
I don't think we need a forth substandard 'keeper. I'd settle for one decent one and one okay one as backup.

31 year old Danny Rose who hasn't played for Spurs all season, wasn't registered in any of their squads and doesn't even like playing football? I'll pass too thanks.

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester

Cahill has played in several Palace games where they’ve been on the wrong end of a thumping, including a 0-7 which was arguably worse than our 9-0 in the sense that they played the whole game with 11 men, not 10/9. Coincidentally, if you take away those two result, we have exactly the same goals conceded at home, away and in total, so I’m not sure there’s all that much 35 year old Cahill is adding to the equation.
