Few? He played once, against the worst attack in the League. I don't get why the club gets any criticism over Caceres. He was brought in as cover and hadn't played a competitive match in about a year. If he had started instead of Stephens, a lot of people would be upset that we were giving game time to a short term stop-gap player instead of one of our academy prospects.

Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business
Lighthouse replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
Mental if you ask me. To think you could buy a 24 year old, then 9 years and 311 goals (taking wikipedia as being roughly accurate) later sell him for the same price is crazy. I know fees have inflated massively but that's still the same as Utd paid for Pogba and Lukaku in recent windows. I guess Ronaldo is just that marketable that he's worth it, even for a couple of years. -
Being beaten by low shots from distances was certainly a trait of Kelvin, how much influence he has on our 'keeper training I don't know. Personally I'd hope he was working on a move to another club.

Heck of a hit and on it's own you wouldn't really have too many complaints. Problem is it's far from an isolated incident and he did have a chance of saving it had he reacted a bit quicker. 2 long range shots conceded in 45 minutes isn't exactly an upturn in form.

No, we probably have much more credible proof which can't be released to the public in order to protect our intelligence sources. Perhaps you'd prefer a 2 page spread in The Sun about Andrei Brehvdiyek, our secret mole in the Kremlin.

Players will very quickly learn to cut down on all the holding and shirt pulling in the box, so after a brief period of more penalties I think it will all settle down again. Overall I think it's been a big positive from this World Cup. Not perfect but certainly a lot of poor decisions have been overturned.

I particularly like Pickford's technique of running forward 10 yards and punching the ball as it leaves the taker's boot, as he did with the 5th penalty. Still, if the officials allow it then fair play to him.

Ill informed opinion based on nothing but gut instinct and cliches but... I’d take the brick sh*t house Viking, with a face which looks like it’s been heading breeze blocks back over the halfway line, every time they come into the box. Nothing about this player screams ‘grabbing a game by the b*llocks’ to me and Gibson just reminds me of Stephens under Puel. Over rated because he’s an English academy prospect and flattered by a team with little interest in attacking.

It’s almost like a default setting for any football article, like a signature on a forum. Instead of ‘sent from my Samsung XGEDNDJ294JFJ4400’ it says, ‘West Ham and Everton are also interested.’

I imagine Pellè will be taking the p*ss a bit privately but I doubt it will be anything beyond that. Pellè was only there a couple of years, I’m sure he’s still a fan but I doubt he’s quite that partisan.

I quite enjoyed Feeder's Echo Park.

I would also keep Carrillo ahead of Long but that really isn’t a positive reflection of either.

TBF Belgium - Brasil will be a much better QF.

Juanmi struggled to make any kind of impact, most notably against MK Dons in the LC. He was cheap and worth a punt but never looked at home in English football.

I'd bite their arm off.

The VAR equivalent of saying, "we think Putin might have lost this election, do you want to come and have a look?"
-
What, he'd immediately sub off Bertrand, Lemina and Redmond?

When he was 19. Gallagher turns 23 in a couple of months and has just scored 6 goals in the Championship. Kane got the Premier League golden boot for his 23rd birthday. Personally I'm not fussed for most of the strikers on the last couple of pages. Long and Gallagher are Championship players, Austin and Ings can go and be injured somewhere else and there's nothing I can find at any point in Carrillo's career which gives the slightest indication that he is a Premier League player. I'd take Gabbi, Alcacer plus one more, given choice.
-
I've seen goals which were just as good from Martina, Saeijs, Thomas, Baird, Vignal and Yoshida.
-
I get that he runs, he chases, he puts pressure on defenders but... Two goals a season! Two! There are players out there who can run and score 5 times that amount. A hard working striker who scores 8-10 goals a season really isn’t asking an awful lot. I don’t see how anyone can watch a team almost get relegated, whilst struggling to score goals and not see this as a problem.
-
We won't get Sisto, Promes AND Alcacer. Haven't really seen enough of any of them to form a judgement but from what I've read, if we could sign Sisto, Alcacer, Vestergaard and Gunn, whilst shipping out Boufal, Long, Davis, Stephens and Forster (Whilst keeping Gabbi) I'd be delighted. I can but hope.
-
Koller, Janker AND Bierhoff?
-
Agree, I'd say we've maintained par whilst lowering the age of a couple of players by 6 or 7 years. A good start but I'd say we're still a CB, a forward and a creative player away from where I'd like to see the squad.

I have no doubt Boufal will absolutely rip it up this season. In Ligue 1.
