A win today and Spurs beating Fulham would basically cut the bottom two off. I couldn’t see Fulham making up a 9 point gap. Big chance for us.
-
Carrillo is crap and has spent most of his career scoring 5 goals a season against French pub teams. He never looked like contributing anything here, even against Wigan. Clasie lacks pretty much all of the attributes I'd want from a midfielder, except 'getting stuck in'. He also (reportedly) smokes like a chimney, which explains why he can never last beyond 70 minutes. Boufal has been subbed off in Celta's last 4 games, all of which they needed a goal to get a result.
-
What about after his 119th appearance?
-
No doubting it was a great achievement for Portugal but it doesn’t make Cédric any better as a player. Didn’t Roque Junior win a World Cup, then get relegated with Leeds the following season?
-
Are you suggesting Derek Accabbage may be being a bit vague and noncommittal?
-
Gaston and Boufal were both luxury players who massively flattered to deceive. Gaston had 4 years, including an ineffective season at Hull and did naff all. Boufal scored one worldie per season and was dropped by 3 different managers, then another at Celta. Tadic was an effective flair player, the other two are just crap.

Not saying it'll all go through but for the occasional forum glancers, this thread is probably worth reading.
-
He had a purple patch at Brum, scoring 5 in 7 games, he scored 1 goal the rest of the season. He had a good start at Blackburn, then scored twice in 5 months for the rest of the season. He failed to score in half a season at MK. Plenty of players have been banging them in down there, then failed to make the step up to the Premier League, look at last years top scorers: Vydra - Can't get a game for Burnley Grabban - Bournemouth sold him back to the Championship Reid - Scored twice for Cardiff Clarke - 33 and has never played in the Premier League Jota - Scored twice for Wolves
-
Because a lot of the more reliable sources and media outlets are suggesting deals are being seriously discussed.
-
I'd agree with all of that. As a neutral I just couldn't make a case for us being worse than Cardiff and even if it went to the last day, we've got (probably relegated) Udders, whilst they go to OT. I think the best transfer window we've had recently was 2013, when we moved a lot of the Hammond, Sharp and De Ridders and signed 3 players, which may as well have just been 2 if you discount Osvaldo's contribution.
-
Lookman aside, I'd take Tosun on loan to help sweeten the deal. 7 goals since he signed a year ago isn't impressive but right now the bar is being set by a man who has scored 6 since Koeman left.
-
A win tomorrow and Spurs beating Fulham could almost cut the bottom 2 adrift. With their GD I can’t see Fulham making up an extra 9 points on us and Wagner was the only reason Udders were putting up any sort of fight.
-
I can't believe they're interested in another of our mediocre RB, I guess it's down the the manager again. Must be Portuguese, Curacaoan Paul Telfer.
-
No idea who that account is but you'd have to be mental to bid for a Leeds player right now. They're on the verge of promotion, they're not going to sell one of their best players, not even for £60m.

Mayuka had a bit of pace and once won a penalty. He's the Egyptian, Norwegian Romain Gasmi.

Don't see any of that. My opinion of him hasn't changed personally, I've never thought he was good enough at any point in his career. Last night did nothing to change that. -
Don't think he had a bad evening but he doesn't look a first team player yet.

Apart from a 2 minute spell we were pretty much gash throughout that. Johnson - Looks promising but way to rash and I'm assuming taken off to avoid a second booking. Cedric - Some woeful crossing first half, even on his favoured foot. Useless second, no left foot. Elmo - I want to know what in the blue hell a professional football scout saw in him, to think he was worth an 8 figure transfer fee. Offered nothing as an attacking player, to the point that team mates were reluctant to pass to him, knowing he is hopeless. Then there were the tackles... good grief. Every time he went in for one he just bounced off and hurt himself, like hitting a tennis ball against a breeze block. Redmond - I'll forgive him the penalty, he was by far the best attacking player on the pitch. Long - Not so easy when the 'keepers aren't pushing them in for you. Still, he did give it a try by whacking it at the 'keeper from 4 yards out. Gallagher - If he's Premier League quality, he sure kept that quiet tonight. To me it looked like a 2 man wall was completely inadequate, especially for a left footer with a clear shot on goal. Silly foul to give away anyway for the fk. -
Last time we spent big on a striker called Augustin, it worked out fine.
-
Tosun on loan anyone? He looks alright, nothing special but that still makes him better than anyone we've got, apart from Ings.
-
Didn't we sell AOC for more than all the other L1/Champ signings, combined? That's not including agents fees etc. but I think we were fairly even when it came to net transfer spend.
-
On the subject of Bournemouth, it looks like they've managed to get 4 goals out of that 3 year contract they gave Jermaine Defoe. Remember that deal being quite divisive at the time on here.
-
Iv never next aned about Gabbi, he was a good signing and were it not for a succession of poor managers, he’d have contributed a lot more. I don’t JUST look at goal threat but we need someone to do it. Having Ornerod in the team to get 20 goals out of Beattie was fine. Having Ormerod running around, Carrillo holding the ball up and nobody actually scoring would just be pointless.
-
Doesn’t have to be a proven Premier league player. Just one who has shown some decent ability in a strong league. Not players like Gallagher and Carrillo who have been distinctly unimpressive at a much lower level. Gabbi was a decent signing. 4 managers later it’s time to move on but that’s the kind of player we should be looking for.

You mean I wasn't before? Not for me thanks.
