  1. Chelsea is our 8th league game of the season. Long enough do you reckon for 'Ole effect' to wear off for Lampard and the egos which run that dressing room to start disrupting things?
  2. You could say the same about half of the tax you pay. If you've never used the fire brigade or been to A&E, why should you pay for them? It needs everyone to fund it so that it's there for everyone. You may not like it but it's an important part of why we're relatively well balanced and informed as a society. Everyone should have access to news other than the tripe written in the Mail or the Indy, otherwise we will end up like USA.
  3. I think India 'letting us win' might already have stirred the pot somewhat.
  4. Would love to see him back here, perhaps in some academy coaching role.
  5. Then I can only assume he hadn’t turned up to training for three years prior to that.
  6. I spent a few days stuck in a fairly soulless airport hotel a few years ago and my only entertainment was the usual, limited selection of foreign channels. I watched a couple of episodes of Little Britain dubbed in German, the surreal silliness of which had me almost in tears. It was only after half an hour of Russia Today I realised just how luck we are with BBC news. If you think ours is biased, you should give RT a go, their coverage of MH17 was a particular highlight. The bleakest part of the whole trip was spending the first afternoon watching BBC World Service and half listening to an British-African guy discussing African economics (I was that bored). I tuned in to the shame show, the following day, only to see a different presenter, who proceeded to inform the viewers that the other bloke as dead. Personally I think having a news service beyond the clutches of the Murdock empire is well worth the license fee.

    White spirit?
  8. If they carry on like this, I might give them a call.
  9. Not to mention his: Daisy cutter hit tamely at the keeper vs Bournemouth, which went in off a big deflection. Shinning a ball at an awkward angle in a corner melee, to deflect it past Wolves keeper Catching Cathcart asleep 7 seconds into the Watford game. Fair play for chasing him down but it was a defensive bowler. I’m with you, he was lucky more than anything and missed plenty of easy chances in the same period.
  10. The flip side being that he will struggle to get a decent contract in a years time if he does that, whereas his stock is still relatively high now and he has his current deal as leverage.
  11. Not to mention the fact that he’s a striker with 44 League goals in a decade of senior football. He is Shola Ameobi in a posh frock.
  12. If I had to choose between Boufal and Lemina, one to sell and one to give another chance, I’d keep Lemina. I think without him we’re weak in central midfield. JWP doesn’t cover the same amount of ground, Slattery is completely unproven and Armstrong looks substandard to me.
  13. Good luck to him, I’m sure he’ll give Villa 100%. If this has basically paid for Adams then that’s very good business IMO. Was worried for a bit that MT was going to be our first choice next season, with Vokins as backup. Thankfully I’d say we’ve got it right and look forward to seeing JV in the cups.
  14. I was being sarcastic.
  15. Plus the fact that he’s always retweeting people who blow smoke up his arse about how ITK he is, not to mention his own posts with a, "hey look, I posted this 3 days ago, I was right!" Subtext. I can buy a couple of agents giving one of their ‘retired’ colleagues a couple of bits of gossip about a handful of transfers but this guy seems to be the first port of call for every top agent in European football. Fancy that. He’s also complaining that nobody in the media gives him credit for his ‘information’.
  16. I was referring to the team we had when we finished 6th, rather than a pick and mix. If I was doing that, I’d probably add a Finnish ‘keeper, Belgian CB and Latvian striker too.
  17. He isn’t doing well though, he’s a bit part player in a club fighting relegation. Besides, if he leaves it gives an opportunity to another academy player. I don’t buy the second bit either, our strongest team in Premier League history is: Durham Portugal The Netherlands Portugal London Kenya Spain Senegal N. Ireland Serbia Italy
  18. There's been no mention of Sheff Utd interest or an £8m bid before before, so this is an interesting development.
  19. They aren’t boo boys. It’s just that many people have noticed the obvious deficiencies to his game. I’m sure every Saints fan wishes him well but if we don’t want a third consecutive relegation battle, we’re going to need better players than Targett.

Why is criticism always taken as 'being written off'? A small number of people are concerned as to how well he strikes a ball and whether he can make the step up. Seems reasonable enough, nobody is saying he will never make it.
  21. I’d like a CB, RB and ST. I doubt we’ll get another striker but given choice I’d get rid of Long, Austin and Guido.
  22. Jozy Altidore and Bosko Balaban are also 'Premier League players'. Even in a poor Saints team, he has looked like a weakness whenever I've seen him.
  23. Worth digging out for entertainment value. Some crackers in here.
  24. I'm still amazed that in the 21st century, when they're asking for upwards of £50 per shirt, they still can't do better than a cheap bit of glued on vinyl, which will no doubt tear, flake and peel after about three games/washes. The Friends Provident logos were all fine, why can't we have something like that?
