Yeah, I suppose as a captain you've got to let someone like Compton have another chance, which I suppose is a reason not to enforce the follow-on. He's blown that chance though, unfortunately. I'd be inclined to start with Root opening against the Aussies, if KP is fit again, drop Compton altogether; he doesn't look ready. Generally speaking I'd take the follow-on and press the advantage and I was disappointed England didn't do that. As J9 says, the declaration was crazily late. NZ haven't a chance of chasing 300, let alone 400, but the weather could prevent a result. Very strange decisions, both of those. I'm not going to be too critical though; England have been excellent in this test, a real bank holiday treat.
