[h=1]Premier League or bust as debts pile up on Birmingham[/h] By Neil Moxley Last updated at 11:21 PM on 7th March 2012 Birmingham face the prospect of either winning promotion or going into administration. Figures obtained by Sportsmail show the club will run out of money unless they rise out of the Championship. They stand sixth but are losing £10million a year. Cash crisis: Birmingham, in action against Chelsea in the FA Cup on Tuesday, will run out of money if they fail to gain promotion The wages of Chris Hughton's squad are just less than the club's annual turnover. The sales of Liam Ridgewell and Jean Beausejour mean the club have enough cash to get through the play-offs but, unless more is found, it will run out by June. That is the fall-out from last season's relegation from the top-flight. No go: The club cannot remortgage St Andrews The publication of the year's accounts has already been delayed until April 30 and the club are subject to a Football League transfer embargo. The figures are expected to show a small profit. But this has been generated by the summer sales of Roger Johnson and Craig Gardner for almost £10m as well as Ridgewell and Beausejour, and with contracts such as the £2.5m a year paid to Nikola Zigic, they are heading for more losses next season. Expensive: Zigic is costing the Championship club £2.5m a year The club cannot raise cash by remortgaging St Andrew's as HSBC hold the deeds to the ground as security on an outstanding loan. The bank have withdrawn a £7m overdraft, further increasing pressure on the club's absent owner Carson Yeung, who is facing fraud charges in Hong Kong relating to £59.7m in a case of alleged money laundering Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2111813/Birmingham-run-money-fail-make-Premier-League.html#ixzz1oWCsdyjl

Yep i'm on the bus -
Judging by the run ins, it'll be between us wet spam and reading, cant see any of the others getting enough to trouble us, but they could hold back whu and reading a bit. Realistically, with their run in and games in hand I reckon WHU will win it with us and reading fighting for 2nd. Anyones guess which way that'll go. We just need to concentrate on ourselves and let the others worry about us, onwards and upwards.

[video=youtube_share;XsMjB1kosKE]http://youtu.be/XsMjB1kosKE People used to call him lazy, but sometimes luxury players are worth there salt. The Man, The Legend, Le God. Now if we could only find another one and no its not guly

Sure it must be, I would hope even they are not that f*ckin thick....................Then again maybe not!

From the limited exposure we get, one thing really sticks out, Gully. His goal scoring achievments have been great but he winds me up constantly. His first touch is generally poor, he doesnt tackle well, he runs around a lot and tracks back but is pretty innefective. at times he seems to give up and just wander around. Iv'e felt for a long time he's a luxury we currently cannot aford. I would rather see lee, connolly or sharp up front with ricky and Gully on the bench. I agree with others its like being down to 10 men for large parts of the game when he plays. With lee he snaps at defenders, he's quick and runs and runs. Ideally id like to see lee playing up front with ricky and BS. Anyway that is all, havent been to SMS in over 10 years so my opinions are just wot i see on tv. 3 pts please on saturday

Looks like the rumour has prob come from the snoooooze site. Balram Chainrai is to become Pompey's owner again By Sports desk Published on Sunday 4 March 2012 07:33 Balram Chainrai is on the verge of becoming Pompey’s ‘reluctant owner’ for a second time. The Hong Kong businessman is set to hold talks with administrator Trevor Birch to prevent the club from being liquidated. If the club was to fold, Chainrai would stand to lose the £17m he is owed as a secured creditor from his previous spell as Blues owner. Chainrai is an unpopular figure with many Pompey fans. But after Birch admitted the club was close to running out of money, Chainrai now appears the only option to prevent Pompey from folding. Chainrai told Sky Sports: ‘I will definitely make efforts to become a reluctant owner, again, until a proper owner can be found. ‘I will do my best not to allow him (Birch) to liquidate the club.’ In an interview with The Sun, Chainrai also defended his past handling of Pompey. He said: ‘I genuinely hoped the club could find a new buyer after CSI went into administration. Unfortunately, there has been a great deal of negativity around my involvement in Portsmouth. That made it extremely difficult for me to intervene this time. ‘A lot of that negativity is misplaced and unacceptable when you consider we initially loaned previous owners money in good faith. ‘I am not the villain of the piece here. I am certainly not the one holding Portsmouth to ransom, anything but. Yes, I took security on my loan. ‘But I’m a businessman and, taking into account the money involved, it stood to reason why I would do that. Chainrai also defended his involvement in the sale of Pompey to CSI. He said: ‘We spent over £600,000 in fees to find a buyer — a buyer the Football League spent three months researching and gave a clean bill of health. ‘What is unacceptable is the way the directors ran the club and the negligence of senior management in not intervening. By all accounts they invested more than £11m, the bulk of which went to player recruitment and wages. ‘Didn’t anyone learn from the debacle two years ago?’

Just knocked this up on the net, could be just the thing for April 7th.

A total of 16,770 supporters packed into the ground to show unity in the face of the Pompey’s grim plight just days after the club’s administrator Trevor Birch admitted it may not reach the end of the season. Pompey fans, however, were determined to see their club survive ahead today’s match. Joe Hamson, 19, of Victoria Avenue, Widley, said: ‘We are going to stick behind them. We are still in the dark about it and hopefully we can find someone to pay it all off and get through it. ‘I will continue to come to games and show support.’ Phil Arnold, 54, travelled from Taunton in Somerset with his son Josh, 15, to watch the game. Phil said: ‘We go to every home game. I’m pretty upset about the thought of what might happen. ‘The main thing is we stay in business. If the worst happens and we get relegated it’s a minor thing, I think most of us would rather see the club survive.’ Josh added: ‘Let’s get behind the team and hopefully we will see it out until the end of the season. ‘We are definitely the best fans in the country and keep packing the park.’

Why should we care. I couldn't give a flying ***** wot happens to em, dont even know why were discussing it, we should be more focused on helping our team to the promised land than worrying about where a load of web fingered gypsies are gonna park their caravans and the disgusting price of lucky heather. Just leave them to their own devices, theyll f*ck it up all on their own....as usual. COYR
