I'd be even more worried that he thinks Macca and Lumley are enough for half the season personally.
-
Why in hell would we throw in £10M for a player that is no longer on Tottenhams books? The last thing anyone needs to give levy is charity.
-
I'd personally say we're fairly break even on Man City signings. Lavia was a huge profit and great Signing. THB was a very astute acquisition and one that will turn a profit. Edozie will come good. Bazunu is a bit uncertain now. Shea Charles i'm not sure over, and Larios has just been bitterly unlucky with bad injury problems.
-
Broja has 3 goals in all competitions since the start of the 22/23 season. Delap scored 8 last season for Hull.
-
Broja is fooked mate. Bad injury, loss of confidence and form, and struggled at both chelsea and Fulham. Conversely £!5M for delap is us singing one for the future - and that kid is certainly on course to make the step up based on attributes and his actual performances - he is exactly the kind of player we should be getting in as a back up striker now, and one that will flourish into a good first team player over the next couple of seasons. Doesn't change the fact that what we need is a starting no.9 though - but anyone saying £25M for the post ACL Broja (who is a shadow of the player we briefly had at saints) is off their rocker imo - Saints don't have that kind of money to waste - let alone on a player who (even at his peak for us) shouldn't be the main man relied on to keep the current team up - and that is when he was fit. Signing Broja is us wasting £25M (at that price), would be mental. He's not up to the required standard at all.

Oof, MLG got his facts wrong here then!

Pink wouldn't make sense as an away strip if the home was predominantly red (imo), which suggests we may have a predominantly white (with red stripes) home kit. We'll see i guess.
-
I disagree. From what i've seen of him i just don't think he's good enough to warrant a large transfer fee. I don't think people quite realise the gulf in quality between Celtic and most of the SPL, and just how poor a player he comes up against. I'd much rather keep the likes of Stu and Alcaraz over him put it that way - if we can get him at a good price fine. But the £20-30m fees being bandied about mean we should look elsewhere. He didn't make the denmark squad.
-
He seemed to be good in Martin's system at the end of the season - and he stepped in at a pressure period and delivered big time. He's not the NO.1 we'd all love for the prem, sure, but he's a free keeper for all intensive purposes (given he was out the door), and we've got plenty of other glaring holes to fill without much money by all accounts. Its a compromise end of the day.

Would be a very good signing for them in all seriousness. Amazing what happens when you're gifted a 60k stadium. Could just be "tactics" by west ham to try and pressure a lower offer on KWP to be accepted. Would laugh if it mean united wanted KWP though 😄
-
Yeah he is quality. Can confirm. Actually forgot he was Georgian - havn't been watching him at a this tournament so far! 😂🤣 Plays for valencia and under contract until 2027 (just checked), so I doubt we'll be in the market for someone like him sadly. Think he's been linked with Newcastle lately.

Yes i think so. This was in relation to the match day specific shuttle busses that were put on between various destinations and the stadium? I think it would be a good idea to bring these back, and its certainly likely to be popular with the fans for a fairly minimal cost on match days - anything that facilitates sustainable and easy travel to the ground should be explored tbh. I should add that I'm not impacted in the slightest by the reduction in disabled parking for the stadium, i just think its incredibly poor from the club (on face value) to cut it down to so few spaces - the demand doesn't magically drop because they've halved the car park size, and there really are limited options for the disabled match day fans (and i guess staff) that made use of those spaces - especially given the changes to the away fan access to the stadium as well now (reduced number of routes, narrow congested ramp over the footbridge, and longer routes to certain parts of the ground).
-
Surprised the club can justify reducing the number of disabled parking spaces from 57 to 30. Have they reduced the number of disabled seats in the stadium or provided alternative means for disabled supporters to get to the stadium? On the face of that seems quite poorly thought through.
-
Is that one of their players... Because he's either got a bit a belly on him, or this is about to be the most unflattering striped shirt saints have had for a while!! 😨😅
-
Its almost like our impending shirt, but in yellow instead of white 👀
-
Thiago silva is 5'11", as are Nathan Aké, Marc Guehi and David Alaba Puyul is 5'10" Mascherano 5' 8" as well. I wouldn't dismiss a 5'11" defender based on height.
-
Give they've spelt "shirts" wrong, i very much doubt this is true. Also, not sure the ladies team will be wearing "DUALBITS" across their fronts.

Agreed. But if we can sell him at a reasonable profit and then strengthen elsewhere its what we should do frankly. We won't stay up next year because of an inconsistent 21year old Argentinian lad playing as a CAM, no matter how much most of us like him. 2 good players to strengthen the glaring weak spots in the team is worth it (sadly). And lets not shit about the bush, we need 1 starting full/wing back, backup for KWP (who hopefully doesn't leave), and GK, Downes, and a Striker that will score the goals to keep us up (assuming AA will be out right most of next season). And that's just to have a fighting chance. Sulemana and Alcaraz are probably our 2 most valuable not critical assets that we can sell. I would dearly like us to keep Charly and have him replace Stu in the squad. But if Martin doesn't fancy him then we need to just get the deal done quick and strengthen.
-
HCDAJFU in all seriousness. Especially at the right price. Strength in depth and experience boxes ticked.
-
Shearer in particular just can't bring himself to criicise his mate Southgate. Whereas anyone still defending southgate either suffers from serious bias or is so tactically illiterate they may as well be watching rugby
-
Does knowing a "name" give you any more idea about how our recruitment process works?!?! Our head of recruitment is Mowbray. Wilcox was director of football and oversaw the general restructuring of the playing and supporting staff, he wasn't our head of recruitment. Does that help you understand the transfer process, how we select players, how we negotiate for them? 😄
-
Absolutely this. So much pessimism on here regarding "certain relegation" from a few people. But the reality is that we were very savvy in the championship with loans - THB and Downes in particular, as well as Brookes and Fraser. All of them would do a job in the prem for us. Why do people think we are able to make good loan signings in the champ but not in the prem. Especially given Rasmus' connections to his brother's marketplace.
-
Sulemana should work in our system. When you watch us play - passing the ball along the middle of the pitch, and players constantly making runs behind - smallbone, AA, Stu etc. - all constantly going up making runs through the defence one at a time like a metronome, just waiting for the killer pass to come. Sulemana should be lethal in that setup... but he hasn't been, and the question is why not? He has electric pace, he can dribble and beat a man (pace/slills) for fun, and there is evidence to say he can finish! But for saints it has never worked - is it because of injuries last year? And perhaps a paired with a negative attitude over the summer ("i'm better than the champ" - which afflicted many) that cost him game time? I do think there is a very good player in there (hopefully for saints), but time (and money) is running out to demonstrate it. Would be a bit of a leap of faith / gamble on him now.
-
Just more shit from Tanswell, why people give him column inchest beyond me.
-
If Ings can stay fit, i'd sign him for circa £5M for sure. Our possession play and constant running off the ball generates a lot of quick play and chances around the box. Time and again we've been let down by the finishing, and Ings is a superb finisher... Those goals would keep us up. Big ifs though. Is he fit enough? And is he available for the right price?
