They had an advance of the Aug 2012 payment in Feb 2012? To assist cashflow to get through to the end of season 11/12?

Expect there are replies along the lines of...

I'd be pretty scared of Madonna at the back though. Get away from me with that!

Actually, while I'm here - Corp Ho (Hello, long time no see, hope you're enjoying yourself on this thread and that toy sales aren't being hit too much by the current economic difficulties) why not come back and give us your Top 5 rumoured signings that never came to pass? I'm sure Riquelme will be top, closely followed by Maradonna, but who else would make your shortlist of players that narrowly got away?
-
Did they actually sign that French fullback who had previously been released by Margate or someone? If so, he's pretty high up my list. Special mention must also go to John '£70k/week' Utaka, Asmir 'Cost £1m to sell Begovic' and Erik 'Stop creaming yourselves about him cos he's shiiiit' Huseklepp. In fact, there are so many who give real LOLs it's pretty difficult to pick a top10, let alone a favourite 1.

It's a damning indictment of the absolute shambles that club is (not news to us, obviously) that the FL have said publicly that they'll block any bid other than the PST - they're obviously very confident that nobody in their right minds would have any interest in buying them.
-
I'm struggling to see many other explanations. If Bill Gates decided he wanted to use some of his foundation cash to buy Pompey and use them to raise the profile of the work they do with the desperate and underprivileged of this world, would the FL also block that because it's too late for any other deal?
-
Indeed. The FL's excuse of "it's too late to consider any other bid" is truly bizarre if taken at face value, especially as everyone else involved (PKF, Portpin, PFA) are happy for it to go ahead and it could complete before this court case is ever heard. As I say though, if taken at face value....
-
Whoopsie.
-
And what a shame it would be if Portpin lost but were given leave to appeal and that appeal couldn't be heard until early May? Wouldn't that be convenient for PKF and Portpin but mightily unfortunate for the PST?

There are some awful poets here - I never realised the thread was so popular with Vogons.

"Jog on" Didn't realise Danny Dyer worked for the News. Oh #factlessallen, you really are a tit.
-
Shame #factlessallen doesn't think it's merely "banter" and blocks anyone on twitter who dares to ask a question that he wouldn't like the answer to.

Let's all go back to subsistence farming! Yeah!

Finding it more difficult to stay up than Pompey?

Trouble is pappy, that the alternative (state-subsidised industries making crap that nobody wants employng everyone over the age of 16) isn't sustainable. And then everyone's in the do-do, not just a minority.

PLENTY of support for Michalczuk on twitter...

Please can we refer to him by his correct moniker? #factlessallen

Think everyone involved pretty much admitted that was made-up rubbish.

Pretty much. I've not seen JM do anything on twitter but raise perfectly valid concerns and ask perfectly reasonable questions (in fact, it's hard to believe he's a skate at times) and get jumped on by everyone who dogmatically sticks to their PST = Good, AnythingElse = Evil, most of whom seem to be little short of imbeciles. He posed a very good hypothetical question a while back - if the PST want what is best for the club, and another bidder comes along who would offer a demonstrably better future for PFC than the PST could, would the PST drop their dip and throw their weight behind the new bidder? Without any thought at all, this was jumped on by the PST groupie retards as yet more proof that JM was "anti-trust" and would best be burned at the stake. It was a truly episode. I almost, almost, feel a bit sorry for him.

This is just a taster for all the infighting we are guaranteed should the PST somehow manage to succeed in their purchase. For that reason alone we should all be rooting for them to succeed. So much so, perhaps we should all club together and buy a share?
