I love my team but we always fail to win, one trophy in well over a 100 years is a poor return for a club our size, no one can say we support our team for glory as we dont have any for a medium sized English club bar 1976, the facts and space in the trophy cabinet speak for itself, fans can become holier than thou over what exactly constitutes success and what price are you prepared to pay for it detracts from the painful truth is that we have vastly underachieved as a team and even when we have had an opportunity to play for it we never grasp it or give it 100% so the question is do we really deserve it?

Of course I would swap positions with Wigan, no doubt a yarn will be given, but lack of ambition shall always be the trump card.

At the closest away game discussing the 2nd furthest away being flippant, how typical of the modern fan.

The club in my opinion have made a great decision, as opposed to trying to win something like a Cup I want an assured wholehearted attempt at gaining 9th place for we shall sing for a whole week through the bargate on this most amazing achievement..............................................

A win is a win , I'll happily take it but it still feels empty, apathy is the word.

The enthusiasm for this game is reflected in the pre match talk of it, nothing, no one really cares, I mean to say I want us to win but does it matter if we lose? This is what the newer fans, managers and the like have to grasp, we aint going to win anyting so whats the point?

I have been saying that all year mate and getting hammered for it, finally some of those lambasting me are coming round to see it for what it is, sleight of hand, an illusion nothing more than backed up by large hopeful words without serious money. The glass ceiling I predicted has been reached, we now will sell our best players as poachers shall come and we obviously wont be able to get better in so we will decline, thats the reason the Cups (also the League Cup we played a far weaker team) are by far and away the best chance we have got of silverware, the happier ones can say all they want about excitement, good football and young players but thats no good if we flog them, play pretty but ineffective football and dont score goals.

For a start Torres would never come here unless we offered well over the top wages we could not afford. Then the factor is other larger clubs have the money and would offer similar amounts so why? Also how much would he cost exactly?

The season has finished, all we can hope for is an upset against a bigger team, even thinking about the prospect I wet myself with anticipation............................

So does the attempt to get promoted, those seasons were amazing as well, trophies not finishing in 10th please, or raising players for other clubs if we are too progress.

I would rather we were relegated and won a Cup, memories are what it is all about for me, staying in the middle of the park stagnating is not.
