From the BBC; "Mr Johnson also says people will be allowed to drive “as far as you like" to reach outdoor spaces. " . I live exactly half way between Blackpool and Morecambe, and suspect that with the good weather and the numbers on 'furlough', such a statement will provde the incentive to test the emerging new reality, despite the leisure related businesses being closed. Over the Easter weekend Blackpool Police fined a number of people from Greater Manchester who were holding barbecues on the beach.
  2. He's just frustrated that Teresa May didn't just tell the EU to go **** themselves when she took over from Cameron.

Given we can now drive anywhere in England to take our exercise, is Weston going to get busy ?

So BoJo says you can now drive to a destination to take your exercise after Wednesday. The roads to the Lake District are going to be busy.

  7. No wonder people are apathetic about participating in elections.
  8. The Electoral College penalises states with large populations or states where there is a large voter turnout, as each state has a fixed number of College votes based on the aggregate number of representatives from that state in the 2 houses of the national Government. As with General Elections in the UK being dominated by 'swing' seats, most Presidential campaigning concentrates on a comparativrly small number of swing states, as winning a state by 1 vote technically wins all of that state's EC delegates.
  9. Come on Duckie, in a 2 way election one candidate polls 2.87 million votes more than their opponent - who wins ?

Remember, this is the berk who called his newborn child "X Æ A-12".
  11. Surely winning the most votes in a 2 way election means that you are 'electable'. By your logic Corbyn won the November GE. Why not give us your definition of Democracy.

  13. 2.87 million more votes for Clinton than Trump. Go figure.
  14. And nearly 3 million more of them voted for Hilary Clinton than Donald Trump. The next highest deficit in the popular vote by a winning Presidential candidate was just over half a million by Dubya, polling fewer than Al Gore but aided by gerrymandering by his brother in Florida.
  15. That would be the Democrats that won more votes than the Republicans in the last Presidential election ?
  16. If the argument against Biden is that he is "losing his marbles" then surely the clear evidence that Trump has completely lost his weighs against his re-election ?
  17. My 5 year old grandson's school class have been asked to talk to their grandparents to hear their memories of VE day. It was 15 years before I was born, and I reckon many of those grandparents were born in the 1970s.
  18. So both candidates are equally unelectable.
  19. Trade talks with the US; US "OK Limeys, bend over" UK "How far sir ?"

My son and I had much the same.
  21. Correct, Christie Park, the then home of Conference side Morecambe. ( The next nearest football ground to our house after Fleetwood's Highbury Stadium, this was the first Saints game for my youngest son ). The Saints squad included most of the first team roster, including MLT, Beatts, and Mark Hughes. The ground has now been replaced by a Sainsbury's.
  22. Way too far south.
  23. Eljero Elia. Now, the waiting is over, here is the next question; Dave Jones took a Saints 'first team' to which ground for a match to dedicate a new stand, opened by Sir Bobby Charlton ?
  24. Cedric Soares Not quite, Turkish asked for the 2 German born players who played for Saints in the 1990's, and won international caps for countries other than Germany. ( Maik Taylor and Alan Neilson ).
