See Dalek, you can make a post without mentioning 'the Messiah'

No, Charlton are still below us at the moment.

They may have wanted "attractive passing football", but they also expected some end product and at least half a defence. It's easy to look good moving the ball around in midfield when the opposition are simply refusing to chase the ball from side to side, knowing we havn't a clue as to how to break them down. Oh it's 'pretty' alright, 'pretty pointless', ( much like the recent results ).

Don't have to buy one, we've had 2 out on loan

So now Lowe says we couldn't afford Pearson!!!!!!!!
badgerx16 replied to um pahars's topic in The Saints
Exactly. I am not sure how much lower league managers are paid, but I would hazard a guess that even League 1 managers are on more than the £50k per year JP is alleged to be on; I mean, could you accept that Paul Ince went from being a professional player at the top level of English football to a job at MK Dons that paid little more than middle management in the Civil Service ? There won't be a manager in the Championship who isn't on at least £100k, even at Doncaster. After all, I am sure that most managers will be approaching parity with their best paid players. -
Go back to playing with Zippy, George, and Geoffrey.

Would you BOYCOTT? Ways to get rid of Lowe and the board

How about doing this, but as they wave their hankies, everybody walks off to the concourses, leaving the stands empty until after half time. -

When he's only got 11 players left.

Has he resigned yet ? :yawinkle::yawinkle::yawinkle::yawinkle::yawinkle:

I don't necessarily expect a win every match; but I do expect some passion, pride, guile, willingness to compete, and more than 1 effort that actually challenges their keeper. If we didn't turn up it couldn't be much worse. We are the joke of the Championship, and the team that everybody looks forward to playing.

But our next home game after Reading is ------ Doncaster.
-
Last 16 league games ; 11 goals scored ( including 3 at Preston and 2 at Burnley, and 9 games without scoring ), 28 goals conceded ( including 5 games where we let in 3 or more ), and a wonderful, earth shattering, tally of 11 points. As Jim Royle would say "Total Football - MY @RSE!!!"

It will be interesting to find out the truth behind the squad selection. JP, I think you are decent man, I'm sure you are a proud man, but for goodness sake go now, please !!!!!
-
Do you still believe that JP is making all the decisions ?

Post-match interviewer "Paul Sturrock, Plymouth manager, tell us your view of today's victory"... PS "All credit to Southampton, they are the best footballing team we have had here this season". Post-match comments from Jan Pointless..."We were unlucky, the boys created many many chances and the game should have been ours".
-
I thought this was going to be a prescient thread : " On this day in history..." Jan Poortvliet had his last match as Southampton manager.

Why ? As it is, we are not reliant on youngsters, we have a mix which currently includes Davis, Perry, Skacel, and Euell, and until this week also had Wotton, and may yet get Saga back. Most of the teams in this division are a mixture of youth and experience. It wouldn't be so bad if the youngsters were all ours, but alongside Peckhart, Pearce, and Robertson, (none of whom are ours ), we have even got a loanee in from a League 1 club ffs. It's the reliance on crap tactics, a poor manager, and D McG as the lone striker that have got us into this mess.

With Forest 3-0 down at home to Donny, we stay out of the bottom three

The US will save nearly 400 billion on oil imports this year;

Given your location, and the effect that US emissions are having on the ice caps, I wouldn't gloat too much -

Some of them would never have got picked by NP; can you imagine DMcG's big-headed attitude fitting in with NP's work ethic, yet he's the first name on Jan's team sheet. -
