Like Man City are 10 times better than Forest, or Villa are 10 times better than Gillingham, or Stoke are 10 times better than Hartlepool ?
-
Completely outplayed by a team that didn't have to try. Having watched the Gillingham v Villa match, and looking at some of yesterday's results, why were we so lacklustre ? And I don't think for a minute the result would have been any different had we kept 11 players on the pitch, United simply did everything they had to and were always in control. Only positive is that it was not anywhere near as bad as Bristol Rovers last season.

How smug did Rupert look ?

But then again, we have also been outplayed at SMS by Blackpool and Notts Forest........

At least in Scotland they are honest and get SpecSavers to sponsor their refs.

If you make a reckless challenge, taking the ball first, ( by a fraction of a second ), but knowing that momentum will take your studs straight into the opponents shin, then the intent is clear and should be punished. What it he'd caught the players leg side on and broke it, what then ?

Jumped in studs first.

The partition of Europe was agreed by Churchill, ( a Tory ), and the Poles were especially betrayed by his policy, given we went to war to guarantee their freedom. How much of the world was enslaved by western European powers during the period 1600 : 1945, and how much destruction was wrought upon south-east Asia by the United States, ( hardly a left-leaning government ) ? Chamberlain was a Tory. The invasion was instigated, ( and most of the evidence justifying it fabricated ), on behalf of Dubya, who is nearly as far right as Genghis Khan. I am the loveable left - just ask my wife...

This from the country that managed to elect George W Bush TWICE !!! Also, the country that gave Ho Chi Minh his weapons at the end of the Japanese occupation of south-east Asia, and funded and equipped Osama Bin Laden when the Russians occupied Afghanistan. -

Pity we didn't think of the reverse strategy when the Boston 'oirish' were funding the IRA. -

Let me see...the First World War started in 1914, the USA entered in 1917; the Second World War started in September 1939, and the USA entered in December 1941. Given that record, how quickly would they respond to WW3 ? Thank goodness that the Wilson government resisted America's attempts to get us embroiled in Vietnam. -

I am a socialist, republican who cannot think of one good thing to say about the USA, ( other than thank goodness they are 3000 miles away ). -

Further 'credibility' ? .....National Geographic - http://environment.nationalgeographic.com/environment/global-warming/gw-effects.html At least when Dubya is finally shunted out of the way, we will have a President of the USA who acknowledges climate change as a reality. -
Hardly a surprise then

Global warming means that the average temperature, year-on-year, is increasing. The consequence of this is that the global weather patterns change as marine currents are rerouted and the huge volumes of water that affect continental air masses shift. The net effect can quite easily be that some areas, for a while, will get colder, whilst others get hotter. The net effect on Britain is that we come more under the influence of the continental weather during winter, and get wetter weather during the summer. If we are trading 'credibility', try this from the Royal Society : http://royalsociety.org/downloaddoc.asp?id=1630 -
