Indeed but we've never been the quickest to get transfers across the line in the best of situations, so it was a tall order based on past form.
-
It was something of an extenuating circumstance though to be fair to the club, especially on top of all of the Cortese malarkey. I'm sure Pochettino wouldn't consider it an ideal situation.
-
Yeah but signing no players is so damn boring!
-
I always judge strikers on the ability to put the ball in the net and I just can't see Gallagher doing that regularly anytime soon, getting in good positions and missing doesn't benefit the team. I didn't say Yoshida was ****, I said he was pretty poor, which he was. Chambers is now first choice right back and as I said no one is suggesting DM needs strengthening. You're literally just arguing for the sake of it, everyone with the slightest knowledge of football is well aware of how weak our squad is in defence and upfront.
-
I can't reply to every post bro, especially one where no one can provide a remotely definitive answer either way. I could say Newcastle and you could go "lulz no they're not wtf", it seems a rather pointless affair.
-
As you're being argumentative Gallagher missed an absolute sitter then looked half dead after 45mins and Yosh was pretty poor. Cork was admittedly good, though no one is implying our squad is weak in DM.

Can someone please reply "The last summer addition was Pablo Osvaldo. That went well..."
-
That and the whole having a bet with someone you don't know on an internet forum.
-
No, because I don't bet and it's also really lame. Feel free to remember that post though as he won't score more then 3 league goals.
-
Erm, we were second until our first team players started getting injured. Our first team is outstanding but our squad is appalling for a mid table side.
-
We already needed to replace Lambert as well imo, I certainly can't see him doing a job next season. It was blindingly obvious how much better we were with a more mobile striker when Gallagher played, who isn't exactly world class
-
It's not at losing him as such, or even the affect not replacing him immediately will have on the playing squad. It's more that it raises concerns as to the clubs ambitions now and how we seem happy to settle with what we've got, mid table mediocrity
-
It's quite obvious what I'm saying. Our slow and steady approach to spending large amounts of money is proven to be rather crap, so I couldn't care less if we rushed a signing. It's not like our scouting network would have shut down because we didn't anticipate signing anyone anyway.
-
How's that worked out the last two summers? Our two record signings have been complete crap.
-
We have lost him for the rest of the season for essentially nothing. Next season falls under the next transfer window, if we sell him in the summer and he is replaced then great, but for now it's a bit sh*t even if the club were forced into a tricky situation.
-
You think Gallagher will score more second half of the season then Osvaldo would have?
-
True, lets not blow that 300k all at once.
-
It doesn't suggest that, it suggests we no longer have him when we thought we would.
-
Let's not kid ourselves, losing a £15mill striker for nothing and not signing a replacement is a sh*t window
-
Personally I don't think well get anyone, if we do I think it'll either be him or the old juventus chap though
-
^ so many rustled jimmies up in hurr, relax friends
-
There's a fine line between trying to come across as dry and intelligent and just being boring, I suggest you study that lines whereabouts.
-
^Unfortunately all 3 of you are wrong though so you're just gonna have to try and deal with that.
-
Stick him in attacking midfield, were lacking creativity
