If you check out the other thread below we were debating it and I can across this thread and it made me really chuckle, that's all. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?53100-Stupid-comments-from-other-team-s-fans

I'm glad you concur. Not sure what it has to do with asset stripping mind?
-
Who said it was? This comment is about stupid things being said. Saying we were being asset stripped was a stupid thing to say at the beginning, the middle or at the end of the Summer. That's the point.

This is what Wessex Saint posted more, some class comments in here Jamie.

Sorry, just going through old threads, surely this is a golden thread?

As is the original thread: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?51095-Asset-stripping&highlight=asset+strip#.VLfW-flFDqA

You need to go back and look at a number of posts made by a number of us (the minority) last Summer. Good thread here: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?51395-So-then-how-is-the-asset-stripping-going-then-lads#.VLfVdvlFDqA

But we knew we hadn't got them in dirt cheap wages, and we were nowhere near selling all the players? Perhaps we all have different definitions of 'asset strip', but there was no way that was an asset strip in my eyes throughout the whole Summer, and the process we went through said that to me. I just don't understand how people could get to that conclusion, even at that point on July 26th.

We iz gud, innit?

In no 'Asset Strip' would the club replace players with expensive foreigners. An 'asset strip' would include selling all players and not replacing them, selling the stadium etc. What you have described above is a club making a big profit on players and replacing them with cheaper alternatives.

Which you never know with Bill calling plays...

I wonder who they're going to pop Sherman on. Need someone to nullify Gronk, just not sure who.
-
I'm sorry, but that's not true. Those who thought we were being asset stripped didnt know what an asset strip was. That's why it was a stupid comment. You can add 'firesale' to that.

This. Would love to see the Colts win it though, obviously.

"We're being asset stripped. FACT."

I would comment further, but it looks like Turkish, CB Fry, KRG and VFTT have done my job for me. Loving St George though

Too many games in too shorter time.

Contractors fulfill a need. We're flexible, knowledgeable and although not 'worth' the money we work to get the job done. We don't get any benefits, and we don't steal knowledge and not release it. To get someone in, to train them on our system etc will take a minimum of 6 months, and even then I doubt they'd do as good a job as some of us. If you need someone in quickly to deal with legislative change etc, then time is not on your side. We've got a contractor here advising us on an Oracle implementation that is on £1450 a day. He's been here 14 months so far

I think we'd be mad not to take £16M plus for him.
