Going down quicker than the titanic. We're obviously in the ****e financially. We have nobody left who can consistently score at this level. We will go down and probably start next season on minus points due administration. The future's ****e, the future's red and white

It seems that my rant ant the inept ****wits has paid dividends. Up to 2797kbps Actual IP profile throughput now - all good again

Anybody ITK able to help please? I have just moved into a rented house and the 'expected' Speed for broadband is up to 3MBps (I don't really need massive speeds as I don't download loads). With my router (wireless netgear) plugged into its current socket I get a Downstream speed of 4704kBps. When I plug it into the master socket (with the face plate off so I am connected to the 'start' of the line to the house), the Downstream is 6624KBps. The IP profile for the line however remains constant regardless of which socket is used at a 'whopping' 135kBps I have spent ages on the phone to India and once they determine who I am (cos BT haven't updated their systems!), they all spout the same crap about leaving the line to 'settle down' for 2 weeks and "by then I assure you that you will get the correct speed" In the week I have been here the IP profile has remained constant, suggesting that, despite BT assurances, sweet FA is happening. In the meantime I'm paying these ****s for a broadband service and getting dial up speeds. Apart from leaving BT (not really an option cos I believe the fault is on the line so the ISP won't matter),anybody got any clues as to how I can sort this out without another protracted telephone call to India?? Ta

I'll blame them both!! They're both greedy bastards.

It's really bad here in Fleet then!!

How about they give us a break? Two week's ago the price of a barrel of oil was $100. Yesterday it closed at $78. Two week's ago the cost of a litre of unleaded petrol was £107.9 Yesterday it was £107.9 If the robbing gets passed on the reduction in real terms, we should only be paying £0.84 a litre Instead of bailing out all the ******s in the city, how about giving us all a break?

I doubt it, but the poster lives in LA and I don't think the illegal arms trade deals in pounds

Of course we would. We are in the **** financially! So it wouldn't matter if we were 10 games in and top of the league (assuming the window was still open), we need the money. There's no confirmation on Surman yet anyway is there?
-
'Tis fixed now anyway

Cheers Poshie, managed to find it, problem still there but confirmed as an AVG problem
-
Taken from neoseeker.com: Confirmation that the problem is with AVG, as suspected by the fact that everyone was affected at the same time, and not the individual users: This is copied from the AVG Free Forum. "Currently the update for AVG Free v8 is corrupted... you will have to wait for AVG Technologies to address the issue with the update. Reporting the issue again by other users here will not do any good util it is resolved. The updates that your AVG currently have will still provide the protection it is setup to detect. In otherwords, just getting this update will not make your AVG Free ineffective and as soon as AVG Tech resolves the issue you will be able to update to the current virus definitions at that time. So in short... please do not post to report the issue, its already known. Also please be patient until AVG Technologies can address the issue."

Oh ********!! Thought I had a corrupt version so uninstalled it. Now the AVG website doesn't have an AVG free to download.
