Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
TwoPints replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
So how many do you make it? 20, 30, 50, 100? The point still stands but I suspect your twisted view on life won't allow you to understand that. -

Well, so far across Europe it's about a dozen isn't it but you just go round tarring everyone with the same brush because they happen to share the same religion. You really are an unpleasant individual. -

Look at the list, take them out of the equation and work it out yourself. -

I believe Verbal gave you a list that you've chosen to ignore apart from another of your pointless glib comments. What I'm struggling to understand is the benefit of having you in Western Europe to be honest. -

Maybe compassion to people who have been bombed out of their homes and their lives destroyed is why they come here? Ever thought about compassion? And before you blather on about the fact that the Muslims have no compassion for the West so why should we show them compassion, the terrorists are a small group of nutters and not representative of the entire Muslim population. Particularly of those escaping persecution. -

One of the four biggest audit firms in the world... Is it really surprising that they have links with the EU? If you look carefully, they'll have links all over the world. They're auditors, I suspect the would have little interest in falsifying the facts for the benefit of the people wishing to stay in the EU. They're an American company, not a British one or an EU one. Probably about as independent as a leaver could possibly want.

The link doesn't work for me. -
Are there 500m people living in Southampton now then which is the potential Sceptical was taking about, hence my bonkers comment (which it was). I prefer to put it in terms of 1.8% of the population which gives a little more perspective on the number.
-
Just bonkers plain and simple.
-
Well you're a charmer aren't you. You seem to be suggesting that because you've paid more than the average amount of tax and not used the NHS as much as others then you're somehow entitled to a better service than others and not have to put up with your wife being in a ward where apparently no one else spoke English. How long do you think someone would need to be employed on the minimum wage before they should be entitled to free health care? British or otherwise! And to blame all of that on immigration when net immigration is only about 1.8% of the population is really stretching the argument.
-
Really! I've let my eyes and experience affect my judgement over many years. No prejudice in it. If they'd ever gone out of their way to improve the NHS I'd have said so but they haven't.
-
No, its not a ludicrous comparison. The point being made was that aintforever had decided that he wanted out of the EU because there were Poles in A&E at the same time that his wife needed treatment. He doesn't know who they were, what they've contributed, whether they were working here or just on holiday. There are thousands of British expats in Spain who are free to use the Spanish health system, many live there, are elderly, not working but use the health service there all the same. Do you not see how that is comparable? As I said, the reason that our health service is crap is not because of 'immigrants' many of whom work for the NHS (indeed those Poles might have been NHS workers, who knows) but the fact that successive Tory governments make it their business to screw it up.
-
And god forbid that you or your wife travel to Spain and fall ill. I can imagine the Spanish having the same conversation about you clogging up their health service as you have about Poles in the UK. The main reason A&E is **** is because the Torys are in power and they always **** up the NHS. It's what they do.
-
I wonder what the nationality of the doctors and nurses that looked after your wife was. I also wonder whether the 'bunch of Polish people' you refer to were hard working, tax paying Poles that contributed their share to the NHS as most of those that I have met are.

England footballer 'arrested over underage sex allegations'
TwoPints replied to Twiggy's topic in The Lounge
Ooh, wonder why you didn't post this story instead? http://www.torquayheraldexpress.co.uk/Guilty-Torquay-sex-offender-walks-free-court/story-28390522-detail/story.html Could it be because this is a British sex offender in Torquay that wasn't imprisoned for his crimes? I wonder where you'd suggest sending him back to? -

Probably better than picking selected articles from selected newspapers then misrepresenting them to support your own agenda. -

Not just the Daily Mail, this fella will trawl through any old rag to find a story remotely related to Muslims, the Torquay Herald being a prime example where he misrepresented a story about a Somali to feed his agenda. -
Doh! Just read your post again! That one went right over my head (I think) ?

It was about £30 per quarter. If you only have them come once (no point as your lawn will look like a ploughed field when they've scarified it), if you have them for a year it would have cost £120, if you keep them for ten years, it'll cost you £1200.
-
Depends on the size of your garden. I've got a good size garden (not large but big enough) and I think they charged something like £30 per quarter {but that was a few years ago now).
-
I used Green Thumb a few years ago,. They come round, take a good look at your lawn, quote a price and then get on with it. Seemed to know their stuff. My lawn was covered in moss and weeds so they scarify it (amazing how many bags of moss I ended up with), put some seeds down, then they come back every quarter to give the lawn different treatments depending on the season. I must say, my lawn was beautiful while we used them. I stopped after I was made redundant and the lawns gone downhill again in the past few years. Will definitely get them back in one day.
