  1. Don't worry, Question Time will sort this out ... I have my wine and I'm in a shouting at the tele mood so ready for the Tory to try and defend Jeremy Hunt.
  2. Voted ?
  3. There are some cracking suggestions in the comments on that link too, from: "Could we not test out residents behind the Milton end regarding compensation of say £20k each for loss of light should they agree to a rebuilt Milton end at a greater height?" to "A state of the art modern stadium fit for a premier league club BETTER than Saint Mary's. Yea it might cost £50m but with retail, ships restaurant get it funded by government funding similar to the likes of man city.* They seem to be a club swimming and cash just looking for a way to spend it. This fella seems to talk more sense though: "Im not sure we need to worry about capacity at this stage. Lets be honest, its not a sell out every week. If we increased to 30k capacity and still got 16k, it would look rather empty. Are our supporters so fickle that they won't come unless we were in the Premiership? I remember the days in the 90's when we had terracing and could fit in 24k yet rarely was it sell out."
  4. Well, in the end we heard news that the Penguin Cafe in Lee on Solent had changed hands so we thought we'd check that out. Quite an experience getting there today ... it took a while to get the car door open against the wind and was hard work walking towards the seafront. ? Well worth it in the end though. 6 items for £5 plus tea/coffee included in the price. Great breakfast too. I opted for 2 x bacon, fried egg, beans, saute potatoes and fried bread. Looks like I have plenty of places to try out in future too. ?
  5. Thanks folks. I was thinking of the Santos lounge so might give that a go, although to be honest the selco option might be just what I'm looking for! I'll check out the Bonne Bouche too as Hamble might be a good option. Cheers
  6. Evening all. Got some friends over from America and we're after a good English breakfast tomorrow. Can anyone recommend somewhere for a really good fried breakfast. Somewhere within half an hours drive of Southampton would be good! Cheers.
  7. Always been android. Glad about that again now. Apple is sooo overpriced in comparison.
  8. Blimey, I'm agreeing with Glasgow! Even with the sending off (and possibly because of it) I thought it was a cracking game today and showed how good we are even with ten men. Long had another great game although be fair I've never been one to slag him off. Just needed a good run in the team and I'd pick him over Pelle any day now.
  9. VvD MotM for me. Absolutely superb. Had Carroll in his pocket from the moment he came on. Great team effort all round. Really glad we beat them. I try to like them but I always come away thinking they're a bunch of ****s after we've played them. I was hoping things might be better under Bilic but Clottenberg put paid to that.
  10. I liked Crete. Beautiful island.
  11. Brilliant. Forster earned his salary today. MotM by a mile. Great result.
  12. Not a bad start so far.
  13. Yes, a very sad day indeed. Terry used to make the commute to work bearable and on many occasions I found myself laughing out load while sitting in a traffic jam on the M3 when the Janet and John stories were on.
  14. This. I thought Danny Murphy was going to **** himself into a coma the way he's been banging on about how great United have been. He seems to have forgotten they're playing Derby and not Barcelona.
  15. Filled it in but would agree that it would need to be something a little tongue in cheek with a bit of ****taking for me to buy it.
  16. Dunno but I suspect the two fellas sitting near me who wouldn't stop complaining about him for the first 20 minutes, slagging him off every time he touched the ball. They stopped complaining after about half an hour though. I think even they realised they were talking ****. That was certainly a £12m performance from Long tonight. Thought he was superb and Targett had a great game too. If Mane could hit a cows arse with banjo we'd have won that by about 5 or 6.
  17. Gotta chuckle at this comment. They seem to think that the world owes them rather than the other way around. "After Hillsborough and as a direct result of the Taylor report every football club in the land had the opportunity to improve their grounds with a large proportion of the cost being covered by a central fund which I believe was under the Football Association. Most clubs redeveloped their grounds and quite a few demolished and started afresh with complete new stadia. Some of the wiser owners within the game took advantage of this and have made massive profits off the back of their increased capacity to date. Other's like ourselves either had owners who didn't want to spend or who lacked the vision to see the bigger picture and as result ended up with their dilapidated grounds.* Now although the fund closed many years ago, I still believe that the Football Association have an obligation, if only a moral obligation towards those clubs they didn't receive help from the fund. If the club was to kick up a stink with regards to how it is that West Ham can gain a brand new stadium for a mere pittance and that this whole saga should be taken to the courts as they are gaining an unfair advantage over every other club in the land, I would have thought that the FA might well look favourably upon helping clubs... if only to draw the attention away from the Olympic Stadium Legacy committee. Football in this country is awash with money, money that we have paid into the coffers... why shouldn't we get some back. Maybe this would be a great PR exercise for the FA to be helping clubs like ourselves and others who choose to Fan Ownership as a option rather than administration. Just a thought!"
  18. We'll not be relegated and Ron will be here until the end of next season. It's not a great season but we'll not be going down.

  20. I think you could quite easily turn that around to explain why he was sacked : It's not important when you [think] you're more important than the players. It's not important when you [think] you're bigger than the players. It's not important when you're the best at your job. He seems to have this care free attitude when it comes to football. Do what he wants, hold the club to ransom, disrespect his players and staff, and their clubs and if they don't get their way they manage like they cbf. He's better than all of the players, but its easier to be narrow minded and just sack him. Interesting that the club didn't put up a defence against the employment tribunal today. If they couldn't defend it, they should have had the balls to tell Mourinho to shut the **** up and apologise asap.
  21. And if you played Bertrand at centre back, he'd be in there too.
  22. Hi Coxford Lou Thanks for your response. Interesting read and clearly you know far more about STW than I do. As I mentioned earlier, I'm not too familiar with them but their objective of stopping war seems like a good idea to me however from what you say, there may be more to it than that. I too cannot quite make out Corbyn. I'm surprised at the support he gets tbh, but, as I'm a chap that likes a fair fight, all I ever seem to read are warped stories about him that are normally highly exaggerated and the more they're repeated, the truer they become to those that are easily led. I just like to try and redress the balance. It's a depressing situation that the labour party don't seem to have anyone in the party that's a stand out leader so I think we're stuck with JC for a while although as I say, he does seem to be getting a fair amount of support. Whether that's spin or true again I'm not sure, we'll have to wait and see. I understand your point about the Ipad, I use a tablet too and it took me ages to type my last reply. ?
  23. It's a 'Jeremy Corbyn' titled thread and the quote you were replying to did quote JC so by implication your comments were a reflection on him. See, told ya! I'm not to familiar with the organisation to be honest but I suspect the soundbites that you've quoted are not credited to the STW group as whole but to some individuals associated with it. Every group that is passionate about its cause has a few 'bad apples' or people with extreme views but that doesn't mean that everyone that supports the aims of those organisations shares their individual viewpoint. I notice that Caroline Lucas was a member until very recently and she doesn't strike me as being someone you would describe as being 'as ugly as they come', but then again I guess that doesn't fit the Corbyn bashing agenda does it? In fact here's some very recent quotes from her: "Jeremy and I have worked together for years and will continue to do so. I have huge respect for him*and we share a commitment to waging peace." "I stepped down as a patron of Stop the War almost a month ago and of my own volition*– not this week as some have reported, nor under any duress. And I did so without any fanfare because*I did not want to cause damage to an organisation with whom I have worked productively for over a decade, and which has played a vital role in the peace movement." Doesn't sound very scary. "The phone hasn't stopped ringing since and all because some want to use the story to attack the left and, in particular, Jeremy Corbyn." The final quote sort of confirms my point really. I guess at the end of the day everyone will make their own minds up, whether that's through believing the right wing red tops or by doing their own research but I think it's a bit rich to suggest JC is some sort of terrorist sympathiser for being a member of a group wanting to stop wars! We'll this is the quote that I found most unbelievable. I added a short list of despots to my earlier comment who are responsible for the deaths and torture of many many people yet you seem to think that a few people who have dared to express an unsavoury opinion (although I suspect that some of their quotes have been taken out of context) are the more 'ugly'. It beggars belief and just reinforces how distorted the arguments about JC have become.
