  1. Duckie, you sound more like Trump and Johnson everyday, trying to demonise the media when they don’t suck up to them. Weren’t you one of the people calling out Labour because they didn’t provide a strong enough opposition? The license fee is hardly a fortunate. You get a lot more for your money than with other broadcasters. One of the things you get is very professional investigative journalism. If the party you support so blindly are worried that they look bad in front of the cameras then it is down to them to sort themselves out. It is not the responsibility of the likes of the BBC to make them look good or proficient.
  2. Campaigning body? What is the point of sending reporters (journalists) to political events if they can’t ask challenging questions? They do it to all politicians, yes, even pinkos. Name one broadcasting organisation that “just” reports what happens. The BBC news service is one of the most respected in the world. You are just unhappy because the bloke you voted in as leader of your party is rubbish.
  3. Well there’s a first. You normally bust a gut trying to argue that black is white if I say it is black. You aren’t arguing because you haven’t got an argument. It is one of the many fallacies that you from the far right keep throwing at the BBC because it doesn’t conduct itself like the Murdoch publications or the Mail or the Express etc. If the BBC was so biased towards the left why did they give Corbyn such a rough time? If it was as you say surely they would have been tripping over themselves to get him elected? Their job is to hold the government and those in power to account, no matter which side of the political divide. They do that as well as anybody.
  4. So we have to believe that the BBC is biased towards the left just because you say so? I see. Sorry hypo, but I wouldn’t trust you to tell me the time, let alone trust you on something like institutionalised bias in the BBC. If the evidence is that overwhelming, you shouldn’t have too much trouble proving it, should you?
  5. Wonderful, so you can provide this “totality of evidence” then?
  6. So because you have a right wing mindset you think that those from the left are lying when they say it had a right wing bias? Do you think that they would also say that you are lying when you say they have a left wing bias? What makes you right and them wrong?
  7. If both sides believe it to be true, where is the “falsehood”?
  8. Which way is the bias though? Given the left say it is biased towards the government and the right say it is biased towards the left, I’d say that evens things up.
  9. Bald Heads Matter Whelk!
  10. Lawlessness should be treated as lawlessness no matter who commits the crimes. As soon as you start putting labels on you move into the territory of racism. As we know, there is a far right activist whose name I can’t use because you will call me obsessed again who only bothers about rape if it involves Muslim men. The average law breaker in this country is still a British, white male, but that isn’t important because once again it is all about labels. As long as we continue to apply labels, racial stereotyping will not disappear. The whole point of the BLM is to treat people equally. To do that you must stop doing exactly what you do on a regular basis and that is to divide people up into tidy little groups.
  11. If you read Weston’s post you would understand the relevance.
  12. Because it is so one sided and just illustrates the problems that the BLM faces. Racial stereotyping. There are plenty of places that are dangerous to go into in the white community too. Some people are quick to jump on anti social behaviour by racial minorities or Muslims but you don’t hear a peep out of them when white, non Muslims are involved.
  13. Not to worry. It’s not terror related so if no interest to the usual suspects.
  14. You can let your buddy know that I didn’t embarrass myself at all. If he knew what he was talking about he would know that the person he refers to posts are usually very right wing. Not that Turkish would understand that because the way that he talks you would think there were no far right wing or racist views ever posted on football forums.
  15. I don’t know what happened since Steve changed the site over, but not only has hypo’s avatar become even more annoying but he seems to have gone into hyperdrive and has swamped the site with posts. There was a very good programme on Panorama this week about the rise of the neo-Nazis but no mention of the alt-right taking over football Internet forums!
  16. I see that you have been very selective in your questions Duckie. Perhaps go and have a conversation with Viv Anderson about black coaches in football then come back and let us know how you get on.
  17. Whilst it is not cool to praise the BBC on here, the mini series The Luminaries started last night and is excellent.
  18. Why, what more can be said? More senseless killings by another deluded individual. The only issue is when not if this is going to happen again. The only plus side is that they have caught him alive and he will end up locked away, looking over his shoulder every day.
  19. I don’t do Twitter so it makes little difference to me, other than when her obnoxious views feed over into other outlets. The ban is long overdue. The trouble is that those who lap up her “tell it like it is” BS will either find another racist rent a gob to follow or they will seek her out elsewhere. At least when she is mainstream she can been seen for what she is and challenged.
  20. My apologies, you are right. I thought it was carrying on from the What Is Wrong With America thread and hadn’t noticed the new thread name. D’oh!
  21. I seem to remember you using the same argument relating to the lack of equality in pay for women. You find one or two examples to support your world view and that’s you done, despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary. You seem to have missed the countless interviews with black people recounting their experiences with racial equality. You ignored the likes of Raheem Stirling when he said that racism was still a problem in football. You seem to have filtered out the hundreds of thousands of black people marching in support of BLM. As white people we have no idea what it is like to face racial inequality on a daily basis, but the very least we can do is to listen to those who do experience it and do something to help them stop it, even if it means voting against the Tory party whose leader is a self declared racist. Do you realise how condescending white people sound when they try and tell black people that the problem really isn’t that big? Perhaps the black people you know who play this down should take you along to a BLM meeting so that you can all hear about the experiences of people who have to put up with this sh*t on a regular basis?
  22. I see the tactic of deflection is once again in full swing, something that the right use a lot. Instead of dealing with the issue they create a tangent that has little to do with the main issue so that they can deflect from that issue and also detract from its importance. The Tory Party do it with monotonous regularity as do their supporters on social media. It seems to be the rule now, down answer the question just create your own. Modern day slavery has little to do with what is happening in the BLM protests. If the usual suspects want to deal with that, why not create a new thread for it? For some here the issues of racial inequality do not seem to exist on the scales that they clearly do. Instead of getting wound up about people kneeling down, perhaps give more thought to why they are doing it in the first place.
  23. The Kick Racism Out Of Sport campaign was launched in 1993. 27 years later and it is still a problem. No wonder the frustrations have boiled over.
  24. Given the number of black players here it is good to see all players supporting the campaign. Hopefully it will also give a boost to the Kick It Out campaign and also be a kick in the teeth to the morons who still think it is ok to absurd black players at football matches.
  25. Yeah Whelk. It’s only taken me 14 years!
