As Max Hastings said on QT last night, it is a similar situation that we found ourselves in during WW2. Churchill knew we couldn’t fight two wars at once so sided with Stalin against Hitler. It is a no brainer to deal with the Russian invasion first with all the resources they have available and worry about the rest later.

As within the EU, it was probably expected that closer economic ties would lead to a better relationship between Russia and the West, after all, it has worked for Germany and France. Unfortunately Putin has changed from someone we can do business with into a crazed, paranoid psychopath who seems to have come to believe that doing the best for his country is isolating them from the very markets that could help Russia flourish. Seems crazy to be able to replace virtually half of your team. Lumping it into a crowded area works occasionally as does trying to thread balls through a packed defence but it isn’t the same as their first goal. They were much stronger in the air at the back. As for KWP. He has scored and provided assists from left back and I really don’t see the problem playing him there. For me he is excellent and a real threat on either flank.

We find it hard to break down teams who put everyone behind the ball, most teams do, that is why teams do it. Our style is better suited to teams who come out and attack us allowing us to operate in more space. Newcastle were very happy to give up possession after their second goal. It is frustrating watching the ball being rotated whilst the players try and find an opening but is lumping the ball into the “mixer” any less frustrating watching countless crosses getting headed away? If, as has been suggested, Putin continues to invade non NATO countries to expand his empire, at what point would you consider us policing a no fly zone? 0r are you content to see him steamroller other countries that aren’t members of NATO until he has gotten all that he wants?

There are two sides to every story of course and many shades of grey instead of black and white. I understand why Putin might want to make an issue of NATO expanding although it is a defensive rather than offensive alliance. What doesn’t stack up is any argument that Putin is a sane, rational man. His pronouncement of late have all the trappings of paranoia and a blinkered nationalistic sense of entitlement. I don’t know if years in power have corrupted him absolutely, but those who have met him say he has changed. He comes across now as a second rate Bond villain. That has nothing to do with the western media but everything to do with the way he presents himself and his actions. There is nothing in his concerns for Russia that couldn’t be addressed around the negotiating table. The West and it’s foreign policies are often far from perfect, but Putin has chosen armed conflict to try and return things to the way they were in the last century and speaks in the language of Hitler. No one is forcing him to lie to his own people. To say the media in the West have brainwashed us is nothing like the brainwashing that goes on in Russia. Putin is clearly a very dangerous man. It doesn’t need the Western media to paint him as a villain, he has done that himself.

What is odd is that, out of the blue, you pluck two comedians who are not standard Anglo- Saxon types and ask if I find them funny. What isn’t odd is that you get support from Turkish. So before I answer your question perhaps you would be good enough to explain why you chose these two comedians out of the hundreds of others you could have chosen. In fact, why did you chose any?
