Missed this in the news and sorry if it is common knowledge but was told last night that Evans's future father-in-law offered Oldham £2m to sign Evans. Even if his father-in-law is that convinced of Evans innocence, why would you want a scumb@g like that in the family? Is he that desparate for his daughetr to become a WAG?
The win in 1976 lives in my mind strongr than our second place to Liverpool. If I could only choose one it would be the F A Cup but we should aim to do our best in both competitions.
We dont have the luxury of having 4 world class strikers and have to cut our cloth accordingly. Perhaps he should have saved some of his criticism for why a team that cost so much couldnt get a shot on target?
Are we really spending all this time argueing the toss about what is on taget or not? A blocked shot is like a tackle and is not a shot. If someone is on the line and stops it is is a shot on target because the player has had a shot. I cannot give you the definition of what distance the ball has to travel before it can be deemed a shot because frankly, I have a life. United di not have any shots on target.
If the keeper saves it you have a pretty good idea that it could have gone in. If the shot is blocked then it is not really a shot on goal is it because it didnt reach the goal - hence not on target.
The bloke is paid to be controversial. He is also paid to fill space. Job done as far as his editor is concerned. The article is nonsense. he sayds that Van Persie had a shot that was blocked that should have counted as a shot on target. Well if it was blocked it wasnt on target was it? He also said that Pelle's shot that came back off the post was lucky that if feel to Tadic. Well I would say that it was lucky for United that it hit the post and didnt go in. 3 points was the important stat and he knows that. He also knows and acknowledges that SFC are not a team that parks the bus. Koeman's tactics were spot on in this game as proved by the fact that we won the game. All the rest is hot air.
He texted Evans on his way to the hotel and said that he had a bird. Apparently the two mates outside the window tried to video the action but failed for some reason.
If so, how come his appeals failed? I wouldnt be so sure. And you may have read the notes from court but not the case notes. These are retained by the CPS and not released to the public.
I don't think anyone realistically thought that we would be in with a shout this season but who also would have thought that the likes of United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham would have been so poor (relatively)?
