In 3 games: Sunderland have got half, Leeds a third and Burnley a quarter of our 38 game points tally.

Remember the away end singing "we're only here for a season," when we took the lead against Luton. Can't recall us ever really troubling the promotion spots that season. Were we ever in the playoff picture?
-
Apologies if posted elsewhere but does anyone know how Ipswich sales are going?

Stephen O’Halloran was a strange one, from Villa, seemed to be linked to a promotion for the U21s game ROI England at St Mary’s.

Similar timeline to me. I sometimes wonder if I would have loved football as much as I did if I hadn’t had Italia 90 as my first major tournament in my football supporting liftetime. I would also add that I quite enjoyed 2018 with England getting to the semi finals again. Other than that some unremarkable tournaments that merge into one. I have an excellent recall of what happened 35 years ago, where I was, who I watched it with but ask me what happened 3.5 days ago and I’d be struggling with the detail.

In this case it pays not to pay too early then. Would like to think the club would be more generous in this scenario.

Away at QPR when we lost 1-0 (I think Quashie missed a penalty). He was anonymous in that game, marked out of it and made little to no impact. He really should have stayed with us for longer, I think it would have benefited his footballing career but obviously not his bank balance.

From the Times today, another couple of records: By winning on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday in 1977 Southampton gained as many points over four days (assuming three points for a win) as over this entire season so far. Four years ago Sheffield United became the first to go through a top-flight season without ever staying unbeaten over two successive games - if they won or drew then they always lost their next match. Now Southampton could beat that: every win or draw of theirs this season has been followed by at least two defeats.

Why did he stay so far off his man for the second Wolves goal? Surely if he gets tight then he can’t get the shot away.
-
Yes, I thought that, it reminded me of that game against Spurs during lockdown. Pathetic defending when we just don’t seem to learn. That’s one of the most frustrating things about Juric because he must be able to see what we can and surely he could try something to combat that.

We were shocking in the first half against Brighton in the game at their place, much better in the second half and still feel aggrieved about the VAR decision against Archer's goal but I seem to recall their fans thinking Downes should have been sent off for a series of fouls. Just have to hope that Juric has learnt from the previous games and he sets us up properly from the start and when he makes substitutions then they are not going to cause us harm. Why haven't we played like we did in the first half against West Ham in any other games since?
-
We didn't have a bubble for the league cup game and as far as I'm aware there weren't any incidents so don't see why they would bring it back. As others have said, my main concern is finding players with a backbone who want to play for us and put some effort in.

There have been some passages of play which have represented a much better press but not seen consistently. Is that a case of not having the players, the players not having the fitness and/or ability? As mentioned before when Pochettino took over we could clearly see his style of play in his first game against Everton. Juric set us up differently in the West Ham game but overall we don’t appear to be much better defensively.

We had four clean sheets against Liverpool that season. The 0-0 against Man Utd was particularly dull and the 1-0 defeat against Stoke on the last day of the season.

Rusk made us more solid in the Fulham game.
