  1. Yup, as a vegie I've avoided it for a long time : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cochineal Us veggies also have to avoid loads of other products made with geletine (e.g. fruit pastilles etc) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gelatine. Disgusting really when you think about it... Anyhow, I for one shan't be missing the cheap palm oil, sugar and miniman coco mixture that Cadbury's pass off as chocolate..
  2. What sort of IT job?
  3. More contradiction fun... Only the other day Grant was 'baffled' by the proposed loan of James to Stoke... but today Jacob is saying that the loan to Stoke broke down because they were unwilling to pay all of James' £65K per week £65K! So one of Jacob or Grant is telling fibs (either that of Grant is not involved in player transfers?)
  4. Neither frees nor new loanees are allowed under the embargo... Edit: That's part of the reason they are talking about getting Nugent back. He's about the only player they can get back in this window... even if they don't need any more strikers (I wonder how he'd do at centre back ). Of course, the 'we want Nugent back' thing is more likely to try to encourage a larger bid...
  5. An attempt to direct some of the blame off of the management and on to the league? An attempt to convince the players & fans that their is hope, and it's all just a series of banking errors? An attempt to keep potential signings such as Onismor Bhasera & Emad Meteb etc interested in signing?

Going under, going under, going... ? Mind you, funny to see that Ethiopians are taking pity in Skatesville: http://www.ethiopianreview.com/news/12483
  8. It's not like we have any say in the matter. I won't be concerned while Liebherr is putting his own money into the club, so long as it is gifted, and not loaned. I will begin to be concerned once we are back in the Premiership if Liebherr starts looking to offload us onto someone less responsible. At the moment it is in ML's own interests to gift his own money to the club. If he bought the club for status, his own gifted cash will buy him more status; if (as is more likely) he bought the club for a cash return, then the 10-15 million it will cost him to re-gain Premier status, will give him an asset worth 60-70 million, for which he only paid say £30million... 100% profits.

  11. Don't worry, he has a new tactic, he can opt to follow Guma Aguiar by pleading insanity... http://www.google.com/hostednews/canadianpress/article/ALeqM5jfwpVVJGBDNm4J0nGcH8sxwavAfQ
  12. The Echo have an agenda against the club. Boycott?
  13. According to Exeter fans he was shocking when played out of position as a left back. He is a central defender, not a left back. Seaborne's not cover for Harding; Mills would be substantially better cover (possibly even right-footed James would be better).
  14. I know MLG will laugh at me... but he looks fast from this FM stats:
  15. Seems obvious to me that we were only intending to sign one of the two centre backs. One of the two was the preferred choice, with the other being 2nd choice and possibly smokescreen. What we don't know is who was 1st choice, and who the backup option. For my money, Seaborne was the first choice option. He was being tracked by various other clubs. We only heard anything about him 18 hours before the signing, so he was kept pretty much under the radar. Ward on the other hand has been rumoured for quite a while, and attracted a relatively large amount of media interest. Exeter would have definitely been aware of the Ward story (but I doubt Seaborne had been discussed by the Coventry directors). There is usually a good reason why fees are 'undisclosed'; one club is slightly embarrassed by the agreed fee. Either we paid over the odds, or Exeter accepted a bid that was lower than their fanbase would have accepted. Perhaps Ward helped knock down the Seaborne fee? I can't see Ward coming here now, I admit to feeling a little despondent, but think that there is enough potential in Seaborne for this to have been a good deal. I guess we shall see...

  17. At least some people in the city council seem to have some common sense... but why only 200, should be many, many more... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/4849101.Giants_of_the_sea/

  19. If he told the truth in his court case then he's off this money anyhow... (know he was reported to have signed a 3 year contract in summer 2007)
  20. He's definately not a left back. He was apparently awful every time he was asked to play there. He is cover for Jaidi, with age on his side, and potential to progress. If you believe the press was wanted by teams such as Leicester, Forest & Norwich, so there must be something to him. The Exeter fans who dislike him suggest he has poor ball control, a poor first touch, bad distribution, and is prone to errors. However, the fans who like him say he sometimes lets himself down, but is definately improving, and has a fair amount of skill already. They seem to think the 'undisclosed' fee might be as high as £275k + £100k if Saints are promoted. Which sounds awfully high to me. (Most Exeter fans seem to be happy to sell, so long as the price was about £100k). Undisclosed tends to mean that one club feels their fans wouldn't be happy with the agreed fee, either we paid a lot more that we'd like to admit (why? when so many clubs are in financial trouble?), or Exeter sold for far less than they would like... (are they in more trouble than they are letting on?).
  21. http://i46.tinypic.com/16lmyrn.jpg He looks okay, his potential ability isn't that high, he appears to be slightly worse than both Fonte and Jaidi at the key stats (tackling, heading and jumping). Good mental stats. I wonder if his penalty taking is actually that good?
  22. More info on Seaborne from Exeter forum:
  23. Interesting list of clubs he is 'linked' with: http://www.thisisexeter.co.uk/sport/Clubs-line-Seaborne/article-1699206-detail/article.html
  24. Exeter fans' seem to have mixed opinions on him. Some think he has no talent; some think he has potential to be good. Most seem to agree that if they are getting the (rumoured) £275K for him they'd sell. Interesting quote:
