So to you our football was better beating a weak leeds team that diallo registered 5 forward passes in., drawing with burnley and a relegation team fighting in the championship called sheff utd and with chelseas 3rd or 4th team is a better result than drawing with united, city, an inform west ham team and beating watford, a watford game we nearlly drawed in the last ten mins as diallo came on to replace this so called jwp who makes us play worse and suddenly lost control of the game in which OR and JWP both played well in and had pretty much dominated for 79 mins... So to sum it up, beating leeds with its best defender, best player and mid, winger and Stiker all missing and drawing with Burnley, sheff and chelseas 3rd or fourth team is better than all the other results we have had this season that jwp started in and diallo didnt? I left the newport game out as they both played and jwp got two assists even though he was playing in OR role and diallo was playings jwp role. See when i think of it like that, which is pretty much what your saying, in my mind it tells me this is more persona than any thing else... Unless you really think the draws and victory with diallo are better than the draws and victory with jwp even though the games jwp played in are on paper was far harder fixtures?

JWP is an accomplished first time passer and regualy does one touch passes if he has a chance and some one to pass too for both club and country... Diallo came on and the first contribution he did was to give the ball away. he proceeded to fail 4 more passes before full time, he only made 11 attampted passes, only 5 came off, he was on the pitch for 10 mins 14 if you include stopping time.... Diallo was the reason we got put on the back foot, the moment JWP came off the game changed and we lost the middle of the park completely and struggled to get out of our half. @Billy the Kidd "You see it this way, not everyone does. And jwp has mostly played the best teams in the league so far eg chelseas first team, united, city, west ham, while diallo had a very weak leeds team we only just won, a Sheffield United team which we drawed against, a draw against burnley and a draw against chelseas team c or d.. Depends on the chelsea fan you ask... Jwp comes back and we beat watford and only looked like conceding a goal when diallo replaced jwp and had us on the back foot for the last ten mins. We will see at the end of the season...

absent against Leeds last year when JWP took Kavlin phillips out of the first 45min? and ran the game? 3-1 lose to chelsea before JWP got sent off, Saints was the team dominating till that moment... i can think of a few.

since when did we play with either a RM or a LM? in Ralphs time here we have played a few formations, the so called wide mids have always played to the center of the pitch not an LM / RM role? if he moves liv to RM it will also mean a complete change of ralphs tacitcs which he has been drilling into the team for years, it wouldnt make sense and would more than likely annoy the club as his tactics is taught in all age groups at the club.

I honestly thought we didnt play wide mids and that the 2 mids that play with OR and jwp / Diallo are more central behind the striker roles ( Inside forwards )? apart from redders - Che - Armstrong and Broja who has been playing up front, and the full backs no one else seems to go wide..........

JWP for me, good players attract good players, and if we have changed are recruting to poaching the good youth players from the bigger teams, we need to keep the ones likely to attract those new ones and JWP is tht, as Liv Said JWP not being sold was one of the reasons he signed, he wants to play with JWP. no way are Newcastle spending 90 mill this season on any players as the EPL and clubs have already blocked them doing a city to by pass FFP rules with state supported sponsers.

It was clearly a block ( he is after all facing towards the corner flag unaware djen is as he didnt look once to see if any one was behind him coming in for a good few secs before his block) which nicely dropped to djen who was 3 yard away inside are penalty area, who then did a fine little run and beautiful pass to redders who then set up broja for a very easy finish. Djenepo pass created the opportunity for redders to assist the goal, not diallo.

Not only is JWP ponderous on the ball but when he is playing there seems to be a team instruction to always feed the ball to him, a tactic that virtually ensures that nearly every attack is brought to a halt while JWP works out which is the safest next pass to make, usually sideways or backwards. Meanwhile oppo's defenders have taken up position in their trenches. He is a very slow thinker. 100% correct. Not a bad summary really, nice opinion, ill share mine. My opinion is this - that jwp passes forwards more than diallo and that he is the one that normally starts attacks off so realise that jwp passes forward alot more than diallo, and so does OR.... You watch the game against leeds i assume yeah? how many times did you spot diallo passing forward? How many times, excluding free kicks and corners did he even get into the box? How many crosses into the box? Am sure TWar will know. Then ask your self the same question abot jwp and the city game... Compare the difficulty of each team, think of your expected result then remeber the result, then think of the chances that started from jwp eg putting liv free on the wing, n armstrong and so on. Then think carefully about the leeds game and focus on diallo and you will notice he didnt start a single attack, or put in a cross and only did 4 - 6 forward passes in the whole game and wasnt involved in any attacks at all. My opinion ofc. I have not fact checked it, but i cant picture my self being to far out on my numbers.

So how many times did diallo pass forward against leeds? How many yards did that amazing amount of forward passes cover? Less than the length of the pitch? Or more? Did he manage to pass forward more than backwards? Sidewards? Was yesterday's attacking performance not because the forwards turned up? Eg redmond who i thought was the best performance ive seen from him... Elly? Was pretty good also, i see all this praise for diallo and yet i am struggling to think of any thing he did that stood out, taking away his defensive error. Dont get me wrong, the team played very well, all did, am not saying diallo was bad, he wasnt, i thought he was very good, but i cant picture the game only finishing 1-0 had jwp had been playing... Even more so when i think of the redmond free kick that hit the wall in jwps sweet spot.. Every one can have an opinion though, i agree diallo played well, but dissagree we are better with out jwp.

bednarek ran with the ball, so did Salisu.. it was a weak leeds team that would likely get relegated from championship 1 - 0 is an ok result...... should have been far more.. We played better at City....... we didng miss him, but we wouldnt have missed the goalkeeper either.

so the best busines model for say tesco, parcel force and dhl and co is to never train any new hgv drivers even though they need them cause it might cut into tescos 2 billion + profits and dhls and so on............ so making sure your company has workers for its self is bad busines? am i getting this right, making sure your staff can do the job required is bad busines......... you do know 10 - 15 years ago tesco and co all did in house training for hgv drivers right?.

the driver shortage is because no company wanted to invested in any new drivers, giving out 0 apprentiships for over 20 years, dropping wages lower and lower. employing people from the far reaches of europe who took smaller wages driving down wages even more. more and more drivers leave to new jobs as wages srink more and more, work conditions getting worst and worst, chances for new drivers shrinking and shrinking, funny enough, it started when freedom of movement started, now wages in the east europe have come up and europe pays more than the UK, no one wants to work here, but you keep telling your self its because of brexit. cassue we all know, if poland are 120 k + short, germany are 40 k plus short and expected to be 180 k short in just 5 more years, and france are short and so on and so on, one can clearly see it is not brexit that has caused the world to have a driver shortage, and to think any one from europe is going to come for less wages than is on offer in the mainland is just being silly...

believe what you want.. i blame the pandemic plus companys neglecting the future by chasing quick profits instead of thinking for the future eg recruiting and training new hgv drivers for over 20 years........

I pointed a game out, a game they both played in, one played in a 5 man midfield with 2 other cms, while one played next to Armstrong Walcot and Djen, JWP as said by the pundits at half time, was controlling the game.......................................... phillips touched the ball just 24 times in a 5 man midfield and was rightly taken off at half time and replaced and leeds ended up winning because he was dragged off..... Wrong, he had a couple of good games against weak oppo and went completely missing against the others, England was also the most dull team at the comp and finished the worst attacking side even though most of europes top attacking players are English......... Phillips didnt even finish one of the top 10 mids at the euros but got to the final......

in what way is phillips better? im keen to see your evidence, ive got 2-0 loss to leeds when one was pulled off at half time cause JWP was in his face all half showing him up.... giving him no space and time to do any thing..... and you have?

IF you asked Phillips to try keep JWP out of a game, he would struggle, if you asked JWP to keep Phillips out of the game, Phillips gets pulled off at half time... tells me all i need to know.

i know how it works, All red cards awarded in the Premier League will automatically be checked by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR). The VAR will also check for possible red-card incidents for which the on-field referee has awarded a yellow card or no card at all. The VAR will look to identify a “clear and obvious error”. Chelsea made a big mistake and JWP was a fraction late on a challange that could put them in with a chance to score and take the lead, it was a worthy of a red card but also a yellow, but the orginal decision shouldnt have been overturned as it wasnt clear and obvious error imho and is more down to opinion on how serious one thinks the tackle was than any thing else.
