It apples more to Rugby Union where the team can’t even manage a whole match ! But cricket has got stale due to too many matches , doesn’t matter if you lose because you will be playing them again soon . Too much football now , fifa keep trying to add more teams to World Cup . Cobra and Kingfisher started off as good beers , when they became successful they were bought out and changed to Gnats **** along with Stella and Singha .Singha used to be a tasty 6% beer that was a good tasting beer . Arsing about in training is one thing , doing the business in a high pressure match is what counts . Mental strength determines your success as shown time and time again in any sport . Shaw had it beaten into him at Utd and is now considered a better player.

I remember he was in the Dutch World Cup team and it seemed to be a good idea on here that he was coming to Saints . However he didn't play as we expected and as said before after 60 mins seemed to struggle but I was hopeful when he was signed !

No I don’t believe everything I read but I read more than once that Poch told the players if they want to win things/play in european competitions then move to a bigger club. It was plain to see at the time that Saints were planning to spend less to remain financially viable while Kat was looking to exit the club . This turned out to be the case and hasn’t changed much under Gao.

I read it somewhere at the time and Koeman also left because of lack of investment / ambition . It came out while LaLa was throwing his toys out of his pram because he wanted to go to his spiritual home of L pool.

I think the problem stemmed from the exodus in previous seasons so Les thought that issuing long term contracts on big money would keep the players at Saints and if they wanted to go meant a big transfer fee . Unfortunately it didn't work out that way . The exodus IMO was due to Poch telling the players that the money was drying up and if they wanted to make a name for themselves then they should jump now along with him !

It was mentioned that Saints and FF had sorted a deal last season where he was rehabilitated on reduced wages , no idea if true but explains why he is still here .

They certainly reacted to the VAR issues in the qualifying games , much better in the knockout although the England handball , really ????

I watched Ings at St Marys last season and though he was just jogging around in the opposition half , watching MotD he was featured as being a major influence with his link play being involved in both the goals !!!!

Perhaps Zaha is a one club success ie will only prosper at Palace so interesting to see if this move works .

I seem to remember from CH4 days that the pitch usually looked in poor condition , perhaps modern pitch systems will fix that in a new stadium .
