Total humiliation coming up I fear , hat tricks for a few of Utd's misfiring semi failures !!!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-europe-42497498/elephant-born-on-christmas-day-in-planckendael-zoo-belgium Meanwhile VVD 's brother scouts a replacement GK !
-
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-42492087 Looks like we have taken a gamble with the VVD money already !

We went on a school trip to a midweek match at WHL in the late sixties or early seventies , we were 5-1 down but came back to 5-3 and despite constant attacks that was the final score . Got introduced to cockles and whelks on the way back (plus grit) !

It is a bit like the last desperate throw of the dice with the players not buying the thoughts of MP2 , can't be long before another unknown takes over .....
-
The point is that the best players were sold for financial reasons by Kat to keep the club afloat without massive investment by herself ( apart from the odd £20M loan) . The managers/players knew this so baled out . The club could not continue to spend as required by Cortese so tightening of the belt happened and this is the result , unless Gao has money to invest , nothing will change unless we get a unheard of fantastic manager who can attract better players . THeonly other hope is a few flukke results that keep us above the bottom 3.

Spurs have struggled without Alderweireld and Wanyama their exSaints backbone .
-
I didn't get that feeling , they showed our chances plus the highlights showed Bertie playing very well ( so City buy him ?) praised Forster's saves etc I felt upbeat having watched it .
-
Well 3 ex Saints managers at other Prem clubs , I would rate Poch the best followed by ? Puel I suppose then Pardew
-
He did kick up a fuss but was told to stay another season , after being out of the squad until it was resolved , so his objective of playing for France and champions league came to nothing . I think he may have got back in the France squad if he had stayed at Saints but he had probably peaked by then .
-
If Koeman could have clung on and Pardew gets WBA there would of been 4 ex Saints managers at Prem clubs !! apart from supplying players for the top 6 and other clubs who think they are top 6 but aren't !!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42094924 So sacking a manager works unless you are called Portsmouth . Sack him now !
-
I don't want Saints to get relegated in case we do a double relegation again , Sunderland showing worrying signs , the report on last nights loss says they lacked creativity and penetration up front as well showing vulnerability in defense while having periods of good play and possession they never looked like scoring during those periods , sound familiar ???

Sweepstake: Who will "rally the troops" this week?

Excellent OttawaSaint !!! -
Surely this has been been coming for a couple of seasons due to Kat wanting to get out of a club she inherited rather than wanted . The tight financial management (aka austerity) meant that transfers had to be more or less self financing so it was no point getting in a top manager who wanted to buy success which is why Koeman threw his hand in (apart from the £6M) Puel was the result but the club bottled it and got a worse replacement who wouldn't ask for new players at vast expense . Conclusion would have been better to keep Puel , now club will need a top manager AND give him a budget for big players . It is no coincidence that the top 6 could put out 2 elevens plus a reserve of loan players to call on. You need a big squad to compete in just the prem these days , injury to a key player can stop progress in a few games . If we want to stay in the prem and do well the new man will have to invest , if not we will have to float to our natural level which could be the championship.

Sorry CB Fry but of all the things I have read about the Saints I don't remember hearing about his backroom staff even on here . I read a fair amount about Black and our GK coach though but no mentions of MPs mates !! Still thanks for updating me . My memory still links to Chivers , Paine , Mcgrath etc .......
-
I think it was strange when MP came here that he didn't insist on having his own assistants , perhaps he was so inexperienced he didn't know you could do that or perhaps he didn't know anyone !!
-
Of our ex managers two lost 2-0 and the other is unemployed ! We need a young energetic manager (no not Pullis ) . but who ? No idea as seemingly good managers turn out to unable to cope at their new club . At best you can expect one good season before the player merry go round turns your team into toothless wonders . No one comes to mind as a likely replacement Guardiola could get a bit more out of this bunch but ....
-
but his job is to play in front of 30 thousand people every week , not only that he gets paid more money in a week than we get in a year . Some goal keepers seem to go downhill and not recover , take Carson , one goal playing for England seemed to ruin his career. Although the ball did hit a divot and bounce over his foot !! If only Mcclaren had played James they might have qualified ....... Catching the ball cleanly seems to be a rare event for Forster this season so it's no wonder he got a cheer , perhaps if he had taken a bow or waved to the crowd he could had felt better . We can only hope the club has a decent sports mind doctor !

Traditionally players get a premium when sold in Jan ......
-
Yeah get Shelvy in for his passing ability , release Gabbi into the box with a through pass etc
-
Turn it on it's head , if Koeman hadn't been our manager already would we be excited if Les was replacing Pellingino with him now ?
-
BFS wants the USA team job , apparently.
