I think MLT was content to stay at Saints and that could be seen as a lack of ambition but the grass is not always greener . His skill and goal scoring ability is something we could do with now ! It was thought at the time he should have got more caps for England but if the manager takes against you , you don't get picked .

He was thought to be a good buy on here from what I remember , perhaps he had already peaked before Saints . Maybe he needed certain players around him or maybe a loss of confidence after not being in the team for so long .....

No I am not taking the pee I genuinely felt depressed at the level of hatred and the foul and abusive language directed at P'mouth players even at the Chapel end in front of families and young supporters . Rivalry is one thing but that was totally over the top and achieved nothing .

The worst match I have been to at St Marys was the FA Cup v P'mouth when we lost 2-4 , apart from the gap in football ability the level of over the top bile directed at the players etc of P'mouth was embarrasingly awful . So hostile atmosphere no , the most enjoyable match was the 8-0 v Sunderland when the whole ground was enjoying themselves (apart from a few in the away end) . We even saw that Tiff Needell on the way out !

2nd on MotD ! must have been the woy factor . Good game even after watching City ! The team should watch the City match to see how to attack at pace and make quick decisions . We looked so much better than last week , Lemina highlighted for being all over the pitch protecting the defence and helping the attack as well as being strong in midfield and Bertie played well on these highlights , did VDD get a touch after he came on ? BTW how did Walker not get a red card ? Ref gave City the benefit of doubt , perhaps the speed of movement of players and ball didn't give him time to think/act.

The whole point is Cortese was spending money the club didn't have , the club had to get some dodgy offshore loans etc just to keep going . Afterwards the club has had to cut their cloth and is now in the usual position of all clubs outside the top 6 or so . ie we can't buy big name players or pay £300k a week wages and have to pick up bargains and do the best we can.

Braced myself today to watch Motd , well usual defensive faults allowing long range shots plus Forster with his unconvincing dives , seems he doesn't think he can save it so better put a show of trying to. Meanwhile Spurs walked through Everton's "defence" inc Martina and Morgan as though it wasn't there ! Spurs could of had a several more as well . Bournemouth 0 points after 4 games , imagine if that were us !!

Ox is showing why he was sold to L pool , looks good but poor final ball . Walker showing his poor defending , for the goal and nearly getting a red for last man "tackle" . Bertie beaten in first minute so rugby tackled his man ! As all coaches have to do a coaching course these days perhaps these courses are the problem , producing slow build ups and poor final third action which seems the norm.

Rafa has a £5M buy out clause in his Newcastle contract ! so if he wants another job Ashley gets £5M from him or his new employers . I suspect he will ride out theseason .

This depends on the make up of the board under the new ownership set up .

Mane was pretty average when he started at Saints , barn door and banjo were his watch words . He developed into a good player and all was OK until the exodus of players to of all places L pool. He and Wanyama in their final seasons played in fits and starts , they seemed to play well in big matches against potential new employers and were lacklusture or damed awkward in run of the mill matches . Yes good players who did well for Saints but completely unprofesional about leaving Saints . Mane excellent on his day and Wanyama who was a brutal defender but couldn't pass more than 10 yards without overhitting it !

Each time Saints got promoted I thought Rickie lacked the pace for the next level only to be proved wrong ! Playing for England he was always moving into space but it was rarely spotted . Koeman obviously wanted mega bucks to spend on players and he now has his wish so this is the season to judge his decision to move .

A lot of journalism is now done by surfing the other news web sites , doing minimal rewriting and posting the story as their own . This has been driven by the gradual decline in newspapers , national and local , as advertsing moves to the internet . Journalists don't like this total de skilling but have been forced into it just to keep their job.

Didn't make it at Chelsea , poor at Villa then started to look good at Saints , got into the England squad but is now desparate to leave ! Is it the England bit that goes to our players heads ? Lallana a classic example that even the ref had a go at him. When we were doing well , plaudits from pundits etc we had a good team spirit , this seems to have gone out of the window . Redmond another that the club have got noticed by the England set up who now spends all his time moaning at other players and failing to do the business himself. Tadic another constant moaning non deliverer. Perhaps we need a better coaching set up to get the players back on track.

It's all about money , Everton's new owners are obviously pushing the boat out , Saints did not have the cash to do this so we are where we are . If Everton are slightly higher in the league at the end of the season they will get a bit of extra cash but not being a glamour club they may not be better off overall. The excesses of City, PSG, Barca , etc are way out of our league as we are not backed by a dodgy regime wishing to rehabilitate their reputation through the football business . I know human rights in China are a joke so I am depressed that we are having to take their money , even indirectly .

Not forgetting the goal keeper with a broken neck (Troutman?) NO not Fraser !

AT LAST someone who deserves a contract extension , not a bargaining chip but a genuine reward for service .
