  1. An update... I tried laptop with Display Port to HDMI adapter then HDMI cable from adapter to spare HDMI input on TV. Laptop was wireless connected to router. It worked fine. A little more jittery than the main PC but maybe that's the wireless connection. I'm going to try a long ethernet cable from laptop to router to eliminate wireless interference and speed problems but even without, the stream is watchable on TV. The good thing is that its all easily cleared up after the match so extra cables are only temporary. Thanks for suggestions! I think I might still try Hutch's Raspberry Pi as a backup though as that sounds a fun project for me to get involved with my sons.
  2. 3 good options there -thanks! I also have a laptop so I could get a display port to HDMI adapter and use SA's suggestion. Google Chromecast - I wasn't aware of that device but it looks interesting CS. Seems straightforward. A Raspberry Pi! You know I have always fancied one of those but I know Mrs D would exercise the matrimonial veto. However, should one of my sons request one for 'educational purposes', I think he'll encounter very little resistance from me. No prizes for guessing what his first project would be. Cheers Hutch, what a good idea. I'd still be interested in solutions which don't involve additional hardware if anyone happens to read this but thanks for the suggestions so far.
  3. Cheers Art! I've just bought my old laptop from work. They gave me a W7 disk which will expire in 1 month and I'll have to get my own key. Your recommendation looks good!
  4. Hi, I hope someone might know the answer to this.... Before I start, let me say that I attend all home games and a few aways. I can't afford to take my 2 boys to ALL away games so we watch some on streams on PC. I was recommended to SportsNationHD on the main forum and its proved to be reliable and reasonable quality. I can watch the stream on our home PC no problem. I'm looking for a way to watch it on our Smart TV, an LG 60LA740V. Logging on to SportsNationHD on the TV web browser doesn't work. I can sign in and see the main web page but when I click on the links for streams, the video doesn't play. Maybe the TV browser is too primative and doesn't have the right codecs? I've done a lot of searching on google but can't seem to find what I need to know. Maybe I'm using the wrong search terms? I'm hoping someone here will know as it seems to me to be something people on here would have tried. I've got serviio installed on PC and on the TV, I can use LG Smart Share to view videos etc already stored on the PC. What I am looking for is a way to transfer the live streams I am watching on our PC to the LG TV. Searches on google have been frustrating. I know I could connect a DVI/HDMI cable from PC to TV but its quite a distance and wife doesn't like cables. It would be a 10m cable approx from PC to TV. I have had plenty of hits on how to show PC stored photos/movies etc but that isn't what I want to do. So, I'm watching sportsnationhd on PC. How do I get the live stream to be displayed on the TV. TV - LG 60LA740V PC - Windows 8.1 64 bit, Intel i5 2.5GHz processor, 8GB RAM Cheers
  5. Didn't understand Guan's post but yours made me laugh!
  6. Good summary from NewYorkSaint! Glad you can see the games! We had a bright start for the first ten minutes. A complete contrast from last week. RK's rollocking seems to have worked. The right result. Could have scored a couple if relatively easy chances were converted but I'm happy with 1-0. Hey, we're second! Can't quite believe it but on the field we are playing we are playing well enought to deserve it. RK should make some changes for the cup game to give some key players a rest. COYS
  7. Is Pelle or SFC going to appeal the OG? If they do, it will go to 'the goals panel' or whatever its called. I might be wrong but its worth a try. Without the defenders intervention I think it would have gone in. I know its not clear cut but surely its worth an appeal? I might be wrong about the existance of the 'panel' but I think I read about it somewhere.
  8. Three great goals including the one from Charlie Austin I relectantly admit. A friendly, warm welcome from the Northam stand for HR Slightly nervous play from Saints at times but hey, we won it! In previous seasons, its one we would easily drawn or lost. Wanyama as solid as a brick sh**house. Great atmosphere, everone happy.
  9. Thanks VS! Thats another option for us then.
  10. Thanks KC! We are going on Saturday so I'll call in to the Bishops Sat afternoon to ask if they are showing it. Otherwise, Newport is with our cycling range so we'll try the HH. We can always ask there for other Newport pubs if they are not showing it.
  11. i shall be on a family holiday on the Isle of Wight. I know we have quite a few IOW members on Saints Web. Can anyone tell me if there's likely to be a pub showing the match on Sunday? I'm staying in Brighstone and I have 2 sons aged 13 and 15. We'll be on bicycles so don't want to travel too far if possible. Cheers
  12. Mr Dad

    PA system.

Can we have a PA system like they have at Arsenal? Its a bigger ground than ours but it was clearly audible when Saints played up there.
  13. Or spell least correctly:)
  14. Thanks for live updates Weald! No streams, no Solent. Your the main man today.
  15. Thanks ANT! That is a bit of a worry. I tried logging in with my old password and it kept rejecting it. I didn't see a message saying 'passwords have been reset. - Use your postcode and then change it to a more secure password'. I've changed mine to a more secure password and agree with ANT that everyone should do the same.
  16. Its OK. I found a Daily Echo page which says its 2 hours. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/events/Southampton/976626.Event.The_Saints/?ref=wo
  17. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/11392011.Saints_sign_Taider/?ref=var_0&ref=mmsp That shirt looks a bit big for him! I hope he's not planning on going on a burger fest before he starts playing!
  18. Can anyone tell me how long the play lasts?
  19. Very good Turkish and the backboard bangers can't easily speed it up!
  20. Cheers SO16_saint and St. Neil Evenings entertainment sorted!!
  21. Are you sure? How do I watch this. I didn't think youtube played live streams. Cheers for info if anyone knows.
  22. I got my ST yesterday. My boy's (13 & 15) STs didn't arrive though. Last year, they all arrived on the same day.

    St. Mary Wifi

Don't get the time to use wifi. I'm too busy watching the football match.
  24. All football badges are a bit naff if you look at them from a non-supporters point of view. For instance, there are a few continental clubs (eg AC Milan) which have the English flag St George cross on them but the Italians aren't complaining. It shows a history of the club and its their badge and they don't want to change it even though its part English. We should think the same about our badge. Its our badge and thats it. End of story!
  25. Those people in the photo might be queuing for new season tickets as they go on sale today too. They want to get the best seat they can which isn't currently reserved by existing ST holder. Whats wrong with that?
