Ponty Posted 18 June, 2009 Share Posted 18 June, 2009 Zafira VXR http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/vx/vxr/index.html?gclid=CLeyq7Cjk5sCFU0A4wodf34FpA There's nothing bland about a 7 seater that does 0-62 in 7 seconds.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 18 June, 2009 Share Posted 18 June, 2009 I had the previous model Zafira and while an excellent car the comfort of the rear two seats is compromised by them being able to fold into the floor for load space. Otherwise no concerns. I Also had a Galaxy which was far roomier and comfortable but not as quickly adaptable as the Zafira. Comparing the two current versions though I'd still go for the Ford. mdearlove Posted 18 June, 2009 Share Posted 18 June, 2009 (edited) You should try and watch the report Fifth Gear did on the zafira and 7 seaters rear safety - made for nasty watching. I used to have one and it did us proud but having subsequently seen the report I wouldn't touch another one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeDjz4Eg7xQ Edited 18 June, 2009 by mdearlove
Al de Man Posted 18 June, 2009 Share Posted 18 June, 2009 I have a VW Touran 2.0TDi which is the same sort of size as the Zafira and don't use the back two seats except if I absolutely have to. They offer about the same volume of leg room as an ice cream tub and certainly wouldn't be the easiest to get out of in an accident. With them up, you're left with enough luggage space to take one extremely narrow suitcase, but that's what happens when you try and squeeze seven seats into a Golf or Astra chassis. With two of the middle row of seats out, I was able to collect my nephew and his girlfriend from university as well as all his worldly possessions collected over the last three years. I regularly take twenty+ boxes of Cat5 cable to site along with tools. The performance isn't too bad offering 0-60 under 10 seconds or returning about 40mpg (but normally not both at the same time). A single word conclusion; Versatile.

Son of Bob Posted 22 June, 2009 Share Posted 22 June, 2009 I've just brought one of these (a Nissan Terrano) which has 7 full size seats, all with proper belts. The 2 at the back are tight but very useable and can accomodate adults quite happily. It also has the benefit of 4 wheel drive, being extremely comfortable, having huge boot space and best of all, it sticks 2 fingers up at all the ill-informed idiots who honestly believe that owning a 4x4 will make polar bears homeless. St Landrew Posted 22 June, 2009 Share Posted 22 June, 2009 4x4s do make polar bears homeless. They have a small appendage which detaches and rolls upto the polar bears ice cave, knocks on the door and shouts GET OUT..! Honest.
