derry Posted 19 June, 2009 Share Posted 19 June, 2009 It is possible maybe not probable that KK is not in discussions as a prospective manager at all but the new owner meeting colleagues. I was told a couple of months ago that he was the buyer backed by a well known large venture capital fund. I dismissed it at the time as improbable, although the source was the part owner of a large UK retailer. He has connections in sport and the city. jam Posted 19 June, 2009 Share Posted 19 June, 2009 [...] Our one client has SUBSTANTIAL wealth - several hundred million. [...] This suggests the wealth of the mystery client to me. Is KK worth several hundred million?

Pokerchampion Posted 19 June, 2009 Share Posted 19 June, 2009 if you listened to the mark dennis interview on talksport this morning he said one investor had 50 million and the other substancially more , 50 million = kk
Fergie Posted 19 June, 2009 Share Posted 19 June, 2009 If they really have that much money why are they worried about the 10 point penalty!? Surely with that much money they can attract the right players, a great manager and get promoted even with the penalty!!? Cant see the owner, whoever he is, having that much money! Why would be buy saints if he did have that much, unless he's a fan! Surely you'd look into a decent championship club like Reading before you'd look at saints? saint_in_munich Posted 19 June, 2009 Share Posted 19 June, 2009 If my memory serves me right the backer was worth several million and had never been involved in a football club in the past. shoot me down if i am wrong as i am in Texas and drinking lots of ice cold beers in 100 degree heat !!! but i still feel the pain, F5 key packed up about 6 hrs ago !!! Pat from Poole Posted 19 June, 2009 Share Posted 19 June, 2009 I've got to be honest, if I was a large venture capital fund, I don't think KK is the first person I would entrust to look after my funds. That said, I would have been very excited by him being our manager, though I fully accept this is not going to happen.
the boy from saints Posted 19 June, 2009 Share Posted 19 June, 2009 KK vs the FL. That's my take on it! Would the FL have the guts to fight a blatantly unfair decision against a high profile English football legend? To be fair the general public wouldn't give a s**t about Ken Bate's struggle, but KK would have the potential to galvanise the country's football fans and media against a ruling that seems to kick clubs that are struggling? There is a lot of pent up sympathy for Luton, Saints and even Leeds!
Pat from Poole Posted 19 June, 2009 Share Posted 19 June, 2009 I cannot believe the FL would let us get away with it, precisely as the likes of Luton and Leeds will sue in double quick time.
The Tango Man Posted 20 June, 2009 Share Posted 20 June, 2009 I cannot believe the FL would let us get away with it, precisely as the likes of Luton and Leeds will sue in double quick time. Quite right..we have to take the ten point hit..we need to accept it and move forward with our once great club saved at the same time.
