david in sweden Posted 8 August, 2009 Share Posted 8 August, 2009 quickly updating myself on other clubs squad changes...... there seem to be more and more " undisclosed fees " ? ..so I ask myself ......WHY? Years ago we were proud of signing (or selling) a player for a big fee, or getting a good player for a low one. Are clubs ashamed of these deals ...? are they trying to cover up under the table payments.... ......are they trying to fool the tax-man ............forget it ! It seems to be at all levels of the game.. in all divisions. Fans are entitled to know how highly-rated such players are....so why not publish the real fee.? Probably because most transfers are not just a straight forward fee. They can be quite complex now - eg sell ons, so many games, if they play for England. Then they maybe paid for in installments etc. all IMHO of course
Ewell Posted 8 August, 2009 Share Posted 8 August, 2009 These types of deals are rife in English football. I have no idea if it is the same abroad but it is a change in the English game that I personally do not like. There is no transparency and it is a way of football boards keeping its fans in the dark. The sooner the football authorities pass some rules that fees need some form of disclosure of transfer deals then so much the better in my opinion. I have to ask myself what are the clubs trying to hide!
paulwantsapint Posted 8 August, 2009 Share Posted 8 August, 2009 What is wrong with the down payment being stated then saying that it could rise with success & mention any sell on clause When Bridge went to chelski we were told 7M + Le Saux so about 7.5M - 8M it made the loss bit easier to accept as was ok price stated

EastleighSoulBoy Posted 8 August, 2009 Share Posted 8 August, 2009 Maybe the selling club gets a good price but the buying club doesn't want it advertised that they have money to splash?
