Pilchards Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 Does anyone feel after reading that book that Southampton Football Club is just a bunch of ****heads? I remember so many of those games that I attended where the team put in such lame performances. I really think it came down to the best manager who went out his way to stop this crazy drinking and the performances reflected that, WGS.... hard work and honesty which brings me to the current team, Do I trust them to really care anymore? Also how much of that book was written by Hiley and it cones across as 75% him and Le Tiss just added his own personal comments IMHO of course. Thedelldays Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 I think they WERE a bunch of **** heads.. IMO that is enough for me to settle the arguement about teams today would beat their counterparts from yesteryear...

Spudders Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 Is the asterisked word s***, d*** or p***? Important point which certainly needs clarification I'm half way through said book, I've already noticed some of the pedants on here would have a field day with it! You should probably have put a full stop after the word "book". You could, of course, have used the word "and" between the words "book" and "I've" and that would have been acceptable. After all, the clue is in the title "Taking the ****"! You can guarantee that Le Tissier has his own anti-Southampton agenda especially NOW and will not spare the bile. Is is true 'though? That's waht you have to ask yourself. Of course not, it'll be bull**** from front to back. Can't really believe anybody has bought such a travesty of literature as a footballers memories. I mean, do they have any after 3.2 second? He's a footballer for goodness sake not Winston S Churchill or Ike D Eisenhower so how can it be interesting unless you like reading endlessly about idiots getting ****ed. Cheers for your help there I'm assuming that where you have quoted me, the fact that what I said has been changed and now makes no sense at all was some kind of intentional change on your part and not a mistake? Likewise, I assume that the missing space between the words 'course' and 'have' was also just done to give me something to come back with?
