Scudamore Posted 9 September, 2009 Share Posted 9 September, 2009 Holmes is back from injury? But i was under the impression that "Pardew obviously doesn't rate him"???

Alanh Posted 9 September, 2009 Share Posted 9 September, 2009 Before I read it I assumed you meant Holmes had injured his back as the only news we ever hear about him is related to an injury.

doggface Posted 9 September, 2009 Share Posted 9 September, 2009 Have heard a strong rumour he has been fit for ages and been training with the kids. Not fancied by ap? Anyone else heard anything on this?
krissyboy31 Posted 9 September, 2009 Share Posted 9 September, 2009 I dont know why Pards doesnt rate him, I mean he can cross which we have missed for so long.. give him a chance I say AP has probably the same opinion of him as WGS had of the Tin Man. He's always injured, never available for selection and therefore no good to him. If and it's a big if, Holmes ever gets himself properly fit, AP can then form an opinion on whether he is any good or not.
Ash Posted 9 September, 2009 Share Posted 9 September, 2009 Have heard a strong rumour he has been fit for ages and been training with the kids. Not fancied by ap? Anyone else heard anything on this? Surely this is ********? Why would the official site report it as injury? If Gillet being reported as injured, or is he just left out the team like every other out of favour player. What purpose would making up injuries serve? Of all the loony rumours I have heard, the club making up injuries for players that are out of favour is right up there. Greenridge Posted 9 September, 2009 Share Posted 9 September, 2009 I'm looking forward to his return as whilst he has been on the sidelines he has reached cult legendary status regarding his ability! On a more serious note it goes without saying we are crying out for width in the team so let's hope he gets a chance to underline his 'forum' potential sooner rather than later
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 9 September, 2009 Share Posted 9 September, 2009 Since making his debut in 2002 Holmes has played 120 league and cup games scoring 9 goals averaging about 13 games a season. I did not count the amount of injuries. I hope people are not pinning all our hopes this season on his return based on a couple of decent games early last season. NickG Posted 9 September, 2009 Share Posted 9 September, 2009 I understand he is rated highly.
oggiee Posted 9 September, 2009 Share Posted 9 September, 2009 Would love to see him back this sat, even if it is only for 60 minutes as he is our best winger at the club, and is much needed on the left to stretch teams as much as possible. lee_saint Posted 9 September, 2009 Share Posted 9 September, 2009 He was very good for Walsall in this league a few years back, I think if you keep him for then he'll be a decent player to have. I see on the OS he's looking forward to playing 1st team football, also Pardew saying he needs a few more reserve games to gain full fitness. krissyboy31 Posted 10 September, 2009 Share Posted 10 September, 2009 I understand he is rated highly. By whom? Loads on here but the rest of us who blinked and missed the massive impact he made last season, are yet to be convinced. I hope he proves to be the hero/saviour he is being portrayed but until he manages to play more than a handful of games, I will reserve judgement thanks! Legod Third Coming Posted 10 September, 2009 Share Posted 10 September, 2009 Last season he looked very good in early season games with some of the best delivery into the box I have seen in a long time. I was then sat opposite him (yes in a QPR box) when he was taken out at knee hieght in what I thought could be a leg breaker. It was horrific - how the bloke was not sent off I do not know. A fecking scandal. It's no surprise he has been out almost since. I say get him back in and let him cross for Lambert to score 20 goals on the bounce. He's only 22 and with a few games behind him will give us, in my opinion, all the width we need.
