londonsaint1604 Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 At the last couple of games I've attended I noticed some people in the Northam singing what sounds like the tune from laurel and Hardy. We tried joining in but no one else seemed to. Has anyone else heard this?
Saint Samuel Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 It seems to be every time the police walk past.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 Yes, it is whenever they see coppers. People about 5 rows behind me start it, then a bloke always shouts "PORK".
NorthamSteve Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 Yea, football fans have been doing that for as long as I (and I imagine most people on here) can remember, when the coppers walk past...
NorthamSteve Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 ....I should add, the 'pork' bit is new.

for_heaven's_Saint Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 Lol, yes it comes from the row behind me and the one behind that. Started off with just a couple of people at the beginning of the season but has caught on to quite a few around them now too. Usually followed by the ever imaginative 'there's a funny smell of bacon over there! Pork! Pork!'
Iowsaintsfan Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 Would rather this
Toomer Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 Should sing the old school Harry Roberts song.
Saint Samuel Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 Would rather this There was a bit of that going on on Saturday. Reminds me of when we went to Charlton away earlier this season, in the smoking area of the Antigalican a group of fans were singing it to the coppers. My mate was closest, they had a word with him, said "don't take the ****** mate, if you want to talk politics we can have a chat at 3pm" and threatened to arrest him! Block 5 Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 There's been a fair bit of anti-copper banter at away games too this season. I love it, because I hate the police. Please can we have another of those threads where people try and convince us how wonderful the police are? I love those threads. But seriously, does anyone know why people whistle the Laurel & Hardy theme tune at the police rather than something else such as the theme from Panorama or Antiques Roadshow?
