Big John Posted 19 January, 2010 Share Posted 19 January, 2010 Try Greyhound on this number 01282688160 and just £13.00 each Sorry tonibell, but Greyhound are chalatans. they are running refurbed National Express coaches and what is more are trying to steal business from local companies who have served the club and it's fans for many years. Greyhound are trying to crush the National Express share price in an agreesive take-over. Poachig from Princess and Avencis is just a bums on seats exercise. There inaugral run to Londodn broke down near Fleet, but didn;t get too much publicity. I am sure that the OFFICIAL away supporters set up will be able to cater for demand with the added benefit that you will be keeping your money in YOUR club. Do people know that Greyhound canceeled their Millwall coach at short notice die to only having 1 dozen or so passengers, leaving them more or less stranded. I know this to be fact and they should in my opinion be boycotted by us fans.
trousers Posted 19 January, 2010 Share Posted 19 January, 2010 "Saints trust coach to mk dons" Given the bad weather being forecast for Wednesday I'm not sure trusting a coach to get them there is the best policy to be honest.

Hi after reading you quote I emailed greyhound here is the reply Thanks for your email Please be assured that the coach is operating ( unless of course there is severe weather conditions or the match is cancelled which are circumstances beyond our control ) . The Saints website is incorrect. There were just 4 customers booked and were given several days notice. If 12 people had booked, we would have operated the coach - even at a loss -as we do not want to dissapoint anyone, but could not justify taking four. Have a great visit to M.K. Dons and thanks for booking with us Many thanks Steve Greyhound UK Support Team support@greyhounduk.com

To be fair I've used them and they are excellent coaches, much better than any other coach I've been on, very comfortable and getting in on time. Don't know how good they will be long-term or if they will suit doing football trips, but its good news for Saints fans that there is genuine competition. With the credit crunch and no money being around l booked Greyhound. Unlike Big John l rather keep my cash in MY pocket... The9 Posted 20 January, 2010 Share Posted 20 January, 2010 Nothing wrong with a bit of competition in the market to drive prices down... I should think Greyhound are doing this to get themselves known, and will stop what is likely to be a loss-leader once people in the area know they are operating, which leaves the local companies to pick up the slack. Huffton Posted 20 January, 2010 Share Posted 20 January, 2010 I am sure that the OFFICIAL away supporters set up will be able to cater for demand with the added benefit that you will be keeping your money in YOUR club. Think I remember reading that the club don't make a penny out of away travel, as its charged at cost price, and may even make a loss if they they don't fill a coach. I'm not knocking the service provided by Princess/Avensis as every time I've used them they've been fine, but as has been posted eldewhere on this thread times are tough and people will go where they can save a few quid. hamster Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 No, Greyhound are not providinga 'service' to 'our' club nor it's supporters. They are attemptomhg to muscle in on local companys, emplying local people who in turn spend their wages and profits locally. Boycott these charlatans. Try asking Greyhound to accomodate your wheelshair using mates, ask Greyhound to put a single penny back into the club's coffers. They cancelled their coach to Millwall leaving your fellow Saints fans stranded because they couldn't make enough money for their (overseas) shareholders out of them from the trip. They couldn't give a **** about US unless their is something in it for themselves. Comfy - yes Southampton FC - No way
