Dirty Leeds LOL moment...

... just been speaking to my Carlisle United STH cousin, he was asking what Lee Barnard was doing playing for us as he had signed for Leeds... I asked what he was on about...

... apparantly Leeds took the time to welcome Barnard to Elland Road in the matchday programme for the JPT Area Final against Carlisle.

Woopsie.

No arrogance down here then? The Brian Stock thread, and the posts made on the Donny forum, springs to mind....

But, taking this on face value, we have NEVER gone as far as welcoming people we havn't signed yet in our program notes.

There are levels of arrogance.

If true, utterly brilliant!

Arrogant, arrogant northern tw*ts.

Didn't I read somewhere that Liverpool season ticket holders were being asked, by their club online, to purchase FA Cup tickets between Liverpool and Burnley, BEFORE their 4th round replay against Reading, which they lost..?

Of course, nobody plays proper professional football south of Birmingham, except for those London clubs, do they.

No absolutely not.

Mention the Saints v Skates game and they think it's just a friendly meeting of neighbours for tea.

I'm not sure what's more arrogant; taking a deal for granted or stealing a player from under another's nose, at the last second, just by throwing more money at him.

Neither of those things may have happened (for all I know) because we're still waiting for some evidence. It is funny though.... on face value.... but I'm sure we'd be pretty p*ssed off if it was the other way round.

I would say it's more arrogant to assume negotiation has concluded before the paperwork is signed sealed and delivered then to gazump.

But he might sign...

I actually hope so. Would he be cup-tied, btw? I don't imagine he is, and I hope not, because no one would try harder against Pompey than a Southampton lad - regardless if his childhood team were ManUtd or not.

I have in business. I've also seen a few colleagues 'do a Leeds' in that respect. ;)

Yeah, I'm not sure it's arrogance though, rather "Jumping the gun"... Something we've probably all done.

It does make me lol at the thought of the editor of the programme shouting, "Erm... Have those programmes actually gone for printing yet?"
