Danny Posted 27 September, 2008 Share Posted 27 September, 2008 Anyone else downloaded it? I've got to say it's well worth the £12 it's going for on PSN - although I think I'd get far more out of it if I actually had a HD TV... I haven't ventured online with it yet, simply because I know I'll just get my behind handed to me on a plate but if anyone else fancies a game let me know. Bentley Posted 27 September, 2008 Share Posted 27 September, 2008 It's been getting very good reviews, I think someone said it was at 90 on Metacritic? I will buy it when I get paid on Friday... And I also still have an SDtv.
Saint_clark Posted 27 September, 2008 Share Posted 27 September, 2008 I can remember playing the demo of the original Wipeout on PS1. It was awesome then and it's awesome now.
Draino76 Posted 28 September, 2008 Share Posted 28 September, 2008 Yes I got it and its really cool; as you keep unlocking the tracks get even more jaw dropping!
Saint_clark Posted 29 September, 2008 Share Posted 29 September, 2008 Whilst on the subject of PSN, can anyone give me some ideas for connecting my PS3 to the internet? My computer, phone and Broadband are in the room directly below the PS3 but I can't put the cable through the floor (it's a f*cking old house, it'll collapse). Please keep answers simple, i'm not really ITK when it comes to all this technology stuff.
Draino76 Posted 29 September, 2008 Share Posted 29 September, 2008 Have you got a wireless router?
Saint_clark Posted 29 September, 2008 Share Posted 29 September, 2008 Not sure as I wasn't here when it was installed, but just had a look and it's got the little aerial thingy
Saint_clark Posted 29 September, 2008 Share Posted 29 September, 2008 (edited) OK i've got it set up, but it's having trouble obtaining the IP address. I assume it's just the same one as my computer? If so then I can put it in manually. Edited 29 September, 2008 by Saint_clark
Saint_clark Posted 29 September, 2008 Share Posted 29 September, 2008 Nevermind, I got it completely set up now. Back to Wipeout
Danny Posted 29 September, 2008 Author Share Posted 29 September, 2008 OK i've got it set up, but it's having trouble obtaining the IP address. I assume it's just the same one as my computer? If so then I can put it in manually. The PS3 needs a separate IP address (for example if your PC is 192.168.0.2 the PS3 should be 192.168.0.4) As far as I can remember from when I set my PS3 up, as long as you have the can detect the wireless network and have the network key (the security code that lets you connect to the network) the PS3 and router should be able to do the rest between them. Danny Posted 29 September, 2008 Author Share Posted 29 September, 2008 Race tonight anyone? I'm off out to the pub now, but I'm certainly up for a game later in the week, say Wednesday or Thursday.
Bentley Posted 29 September, 2008 Share Posted 29 September, 2008 I've acquired the game now, and will give anyone a race, but a meet-up with all of us who have it would be cool. Tuesday and Wednesdays are good for me.
Bentley Posted 29 September, 2008 Share Posted 29 September, 2008 Just played half an hour of it. My eyes are ****ed after quiting on one of those "Music colour" levels. So good though.
Draino76 Posted 30 September, 2008 Share Posted 30 September, 2008 Free tonight although I'll be drunk. Drink driving is not the recipe for success in WHD.

Bentley Posted 3 October, 2008 Share Posted 3 October, 2008 Online racing is ****ing fun. I'm sure Dan K will verify. Plus, in the last race before you went, I killed you, went past you, yet you still somehow won. Offical inquiry on how this happened please... Danny Posted 4 October, 2008 Author Share Posted 4 October, 2008 Online racing is ****ing fun. I'm sure Dan K will verify. Plus, in the last race before you went, I killed you, went past you, yet you still somehow won. Offical inquiry on how this happened please... Ha ha. As soon as you hit me I got a speed boost which launched me to victory. It's not over 'til it's over! It is a good laugh though. I'd highly recommend going online with it to anyone. Barfy Posted 4 October, 2008 Share Posted 4 October, 2008 (edited) I might go and download this one today. I've got to ween myself off COD4 somehow EDIT: Just downloaded it, and it looks like pretty good (even on a non-HDTV). Saintsfanuk Posted 5 October, 2008 Share Posted 5 October, 2008 Yeah this game is awesome, especially online, being able to race in tournaments is such a good feature.

Block 5 Posted 22 July, 2009 Share Posted 22 July, 2009 Additional content out today, with 8 new tracks, 13 new cars and some new modes. I love this game..... but rarely play it. It's cracking fun with the surround sound turned right up. Not sure my neighbours agree. I'll be downloading the extra content for sure.
Draino76 Posted 22 July, 2009 Share Posted 22 July, 2009 Agreed. But I errored. Its out tomorrow. Along with some arcanoid clone which IGN gave 90%. Looks like I will be staying in.
Draino76 Posted 23 July, 2009 Share Posted 23 July, 2009 Downloading + that arcanoid game too. Will review laters.
Draino76 Posted 24 July, 2009 Share Posted 24 July, 2009 Most impressed. Cool new music and car skins. New race tracks offer variety but seem pretty simple to master. It feels like a sequel, not an expansion. Not been online yet but hey will have a punt ofer the weekend. Oh and the new eliminator mode is great; flipping your car around 180 degrees then releasing your quake...sweet. There's more to do here than the whole original game. Shatter. Love Arkanoid? LOVE SHATTER. £7.99 + £4.99 this lot cost; great bargain.
