SuperMikey Posted 12 July, 2010 Share Posted 12 July, 2010 As per http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?23788-Under-21s-(-)-coach-appointed-and-Henderson-leaves Stewart Henderson has parted company with SFC as a coach, and considering he's been involved at the club for nigh on 20 years, I thought it would be nice to have some kind of official recognition from SaintsWeb for his service. I thought some kind of book could be open for signing outside the ground at the Reading friendly (31st July) for fans to write messages of thanks and gratitude, although that may be a bit impractical as there probably won't be a big crowd for the game. Any other ideas as to what we could do? 20 years of service is pretty spectacular...
hypochondriac Posted 12 July, 2010 Share Posted 12 July, 2010 Some sort of thanks would be really nice actually. He has been here and seen it all.
Professor Posted 13 July, 2010 Share Posted 13 July, 2010 Stuart is at an age where this may be his retirement from the game entirely but that wasn't clear from the small information on the OS. Hopefully the OS will be used to record the club's own appreciation for Stewart in more detail and to properly mark his leaving. I can remember him playing for Brighton and can hardly believe that it was some 40 years ago!
Dave Benson Phillips Posted 13 July, 2010 Share Posted 13 July, 2010 Do a collection on here, someone get a memento from the fans ala Dodd and invite him back for the Reading game and present it to him at half-time. The chances of the club supporting this idea though, are next to none.

ART Posted 13 July, 2010 Share Posted 13 July, 2010 Stewart Henderson's done a marvelous job and been a truly loyal servant to the club. What I've always liked about the man is he got on with his job and never played politics, or one upmanship. The man deserves a Testimonial Match and hope maybe the powers that be might find it in their hearts to provide at very least a farewell to Steward friendly game one of these day. Good luck to you Stewart and thanks for all you've contributed.

He has been a longstanding servant to the club, given steady service and survived many a cull.He is also unique in football,as probably the only worthwhile legacy left at a club by Ian Branfoot. I hope the parting was mutual, certainly amicable, and wish him well.
