saint lard Posted 10 November, 2010 Share Posted 10 November, 2010 (edited) Anyone got one or getting one? If so,is it value for money and are the games available worthwhile? Should i save up and spend my hard earned cash on one? Opinions please people. Edited 11 November, 2010 by saint lard
Colinjb Posted 10 November, 2010 Share Posted 10 November, 2010 I am resisting as I understand it needs a large open area in front of it to work. I fear my small lounge would be insufficient.
saint lard Posted 28 December, 2010 Author Share Posted 28 December, 2010 Had a go on one of these today, quite impressive but i don't think it warrants a purchase for me.

NorthamSteve Posted 29 December, 2010 Share Posted 29 December, 2010 My flat mate has one and it's a cracking thing. Our lounge isn't massive but we probably have more room than 9ft. Anyway, you can make right ****s of yourselves, as this video will show... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmTM7m79p_I
Dog Posted 29 December, 2010 Share Posted 29 December, 2010 I've got one and it's brilliant. You only need 6 foot of space and the game play is fantastic. The funny thing is it takes photos of you when you are playing and jumping around. Get one it's going to take over the Wii without doubt.
sotonjoe Posted 29 December, 2010 Share Posted 29 December, 2010 Delldays - there is no ways it would work with two feet of space in front of a telly. Even the official statement is that it needs six, but some people are reporting probs with that little space.

Rory Posted 5 January, 2011 Share Posted 5 January, 2011 I've read that if you connect it online it recognises what you are wearing (i.e a Fred Perry polo or Adidas t-shirt) and will provide adverts tailored to your preferences. It can also tell what colour clothes you are wearing too. It won't be long until Microsoft are snooping in your homes too. Beware.

Mate dont believe all that you read - the cameras are not that good!! - it would cost 10 times what it does if they could pick up brand names and logos, cross check them against a built in database and then download adverts to match! Oh, and just where do the adverts appear?? Chill
Bucks Saint Posted 6 January, 2011 Share Posted 6 January, 2011 How much is just the kinnect bit? £130. comes with one game which looks a bit pants but is ok. Can use it as a webcam and do video calls with others if you want to

Dont worry - kinect works with all xboxes, new and old, straight from the box. It plugs directly into the new ones but the only advantage over an older Xbox is that you do not need to have two power sockets

Bucks Saint Posted 6 January, 2011 Share Posted 6 January, 2011 http://www.newsfactor.com/story.xhtml?story_id=76058&page=1&full_skip=1 er, ok but lets get some perspective. A techy web site with a lead story about "Big Brother shock story". A web site of uncertain repute. Some quotes prefaced by "according to news reports". Actual direct quotes dont say everything that the article implies and contain nothing very surprising. If they start to interrupt games with adverts then a lot of folks will be hitting "off" so its a non starter in any event. I could go on but will summise it as - dont believe all that you read! Shopto.net? need to surf for whatever may be the best price on the day, because very few deals around that are different. Even the bundle deals with extra games etc are pretty much identical price everywhere
