Professor Posted 31 March, 2013 Share Posted 31 March, 2013 If my memory is right, MotD did start out as that, one selected match, with 50% or more of the game shown. These days the programme shows all the goals from every Prem game plus the shots on goal. That is Goal Action of the Day, not Match of the Day. If you saw the Saints game against Chelsea, you watched our team dominate the first half and hold their own in the second. But on MotD the snip of the match that was shown gave no impression at all of what the game was like. We can assume this will have been true of the other 7 games squeezed into the limited time available.
adrian lord Posted 31 March, 2013 Share Posted 31 March, 2013 Yes, but at least the pundits and presenters always purr about Saints' performances when we win, rather than focusing on how weakened Chelsea/'Pool/City were....
eurosaint Posted 31 March, 2013 Share Posted 31 March, 2013 TBF we always used to moan about getting 30 seconds at the end of the programme so maybe this format at least gives us an even chance !!
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 31 March, 2013 Share Posted 31 March, 2013 I think the format is far better now.
Saint Garrett Posted 31 March, 2013 Share Posted 31 March, 2013 Better for the lesser teams, and worse for the bigger teams. However last night was probably an exception as they had to squeeze 8 games in. P.s. football first is much better!
