Highlights on Saints Player now of our 2-0 win on Friday night.

Lovely assist from Gazzaniga for the second goal - his quick accurate kick to set Saints on the counter attack is a peach. If he can continue to develop his all round game, kicking like that would be the icing on the cake - not many are capable of it.

His kicking when he was in the first team 9/10 times was quality (plus at the Ajax friendly he did one of the most of the pitch kicks which was a good laugh). Hopefully the rest of his game improves with the u21's team/training as he's not going to get first team opportunities for a little while really...

He had been doing it regularly for Gillingham. It's a great skill. Still think he will be our number 1 in a couple of years and will stay there for many years. Just needs to develop his shot stopping along with his command of the players in front of him.

Think he could be a top keeper, has ability to do the good stuff, but whether age will lessen silly mistakes?

At 21 he is still young for keeper, although Man U and Arsenal happy with 22 year olds, still has few years to prove good enough.

Prem keepers -

Under 25 - , man u 22, arsenal 22

25-29 - Man c, stoke, Sunderland, spurs, Norwich, Swansea, villa, reading,

30+ Chelsea, Liverpool, west ham, Fulham, QPR, Wigan, Everton, west brom, Newcastle, saints

There was a video doing the rounds a while back of Gazzaniga practising his distribution - his ability to consistently and accurately hit a target from long range was never really in doubt. If he can continue to develop the rest of his game, he'll be an asset and a half. Adkins' decision to throw Paulo in at the deep end was certainly questionable...
